Technically, no it wasn’t, neither were “The Fab Five”, “Catching Hell”, “Unguarded”, etc. But considering they are under the same umbrella many count them as such. The 30 for 30 umbrella covers “30 for 30 Volume 1”, “ESPN Films Presents”, and “30 for 30 Volume 2”.

Guru of Go is also a great, underrated 30 for 30. As someone who knew nothing about Paul Westhead and Loyola-Marymount going into it, it was pretty moving and emotional. Highly recommend it.

I also really enjoyed The Marinovich Project and thought The Announcement was good, but could have been done better.

Well that was one of the worst 30 for 30's I've seen. Terrible format and flow. This topic could have been great, but was horribly produced and written.

Stopped watching and switched over to watch former UNI golfer Derek Bohlen on the Golf Channel's "Biggest Break" Greenbrier. Unfortunately, he was the first contestant to get eliminated. Regardless, hope he can one day make it to the PGA Tour.

Yeah, my wife sure called that shot!

She saw an interview with Bohlen a week or so ago, and, of course, he couldn't reveal to ANYONE how the show turned out. However, she told me that, "you could just tell by the interview and how happy he was that he won it."

                    First one eliminated...good call, honey.

                      Re: 30 for 30

I've seen just about all of the recent ESPN films and loved nearly every one of the them, if I had to pick a top five...

                      5. The Fab Five
                      4. The U
                      3. The Marinovich Project
                      2. Small Potatoes: Who Killed the USFL?
                      1. Winning Time: Reggie Miller vs. the New York Knicks

I'm also really looking forward to 9.79 and You Don't Know Bo. The 9.79 trailer was the best movie tease I've probably ever seen.

                          Now that's how you do a 30 for 30.

9.79 was very good and makes Broke look even more like a giant steaming pile of poo. I also thought it made Carl Lewis look even more unlikable. Wow what a very creepy and shady coach he had. Every thing Carl and his coach did or didn't do make him look very suspect. Very solid episode.

Yeah, I've always like Carl Lewis but that was an interesting portrayal. Ben Johnson and Calvin Smith were pretty interesting fellows as well. Smith just seemed a little creepy and arrogant (although not on the level of Lewis).

I've really enjoyed this series. However, I'm surprised when I see the list of how many I haven't even heard of.

                              My favorites:

                              1. The U
                              2. Four Days in October
                              3. Who Killed the USFL
                              4. The Marinovich Project
