What are we debating? I thought we were debating whether Warner should've at least got a PWO? Isn't that no cost to the school? Plus for the record DJ did not have offers out of high school, he had ONE other FCS offer besides UNI.

I wonder if UNI offered Kade a scholarship if he would have accepted or walked on at Nebraska or AZ State like it seems he will do.

You do realize that there is still a cost to support walking right?

Really? Thanks genius. The cost is minimal to the program vs a scholarship. Didn't you say previously you thought Warner should at least get a walk on? So what is your point? Plus you are WRONG , DJ did Not have multiple FCS offers. I was not comparing Warner talent to DJ, that's absurd, the point was that sometimes recruiting mistakes happen. So, 99.99% out of the "600" schools got it wrong assessing DJ for the next level, it happens more than you think.

Purpledog - appreciate the enthusiasm, by you are incorrect regard David Johnson.

As we delve further into the Pittsburgh Steelers offseason, our attention has begun to shift towards the draft. Like we’ve done in the past, these reports

            – Scholarship offers from Illinois State and Western Illinois and interest from Iowa and Iowa St

The 6-foot-2 senior verbally committed last week, selecting the Panthers over Illinois State and Western Illinois.
Also, the issue with a PWO, is that you as a staff are committing a (out of state) scholarship in the future, if a number of criteria are met. Unless as a FB coaching staff, you are going to simply lie about it, you have made a commitment down the line, than in some shape or way obligates you to fulfill your promise.

Hey I love DJ. I have said before that he was a beast when he played against us in our conference. At the time I thought for sure FBS schools would be all over him. The reason I say only one other, being W Illinois is because we (in the Quads) were in disbelief at the end of his season that he only had two schools offering, he also mentioned this same thing himself, about only two schools, in a great pregame highlight interview midway through this NFL season. If I'm wrong I own up to it, I just was using an example of what we saw, the talent, when he played us a few times and questioning why not more offers. Pointing out that yes, for some reason a few athletes get overlooked, like he did for FBS. I did not recall the Illinois State, thanks for clarifying.

More facts on David Johnson not getting interest out of high school and the fact there was not multiple offers: Another DJ interview, a Podcast during super bowl week in Houston, right from his mouth, he was overlooked by recruiters, no serious FBS interest and barely FCS interest, and only one other offer other than UNI, so again, yes recruiters and Coaches can make misjudgements and keep Good potential talent sidelined.

Looks like UNI has a late add to the 2017 class.

Tyler Hoosman is a RB out of Plainfield North (IL) who will play FB and track (long jump) at UNI.

                    5'11" and 195 lbs...Pretty fast...Man's body already...strong student as well.

Team went to the 7A state title game last year. 1,600 rushing yards. Appears they beat Jacob Keller's Fenwick team in the semi's. Some top IL high school talent heading to CF.

Like how Farley continues to leverage the opportunity to also participate in track to sign recruits.

Panthers have offered Roosevelt Lawrence, a soph. CB/KR out of Iowa Central. Originally from Tampa.

Had offers from Marshall, Wisconsin, W. Mich. & South Alabama coming out of HS. Originally committed to The Herd but ended up in Fort Dodge.

Roosevelt Lawrence did end up committing to UNI last week.

So another experienced CB in the mix this fall.

That never hurts. Worst case, it's another good athlete to play special

He is not not that big @160# but he plays very physical and isn't afraid to hit. Shifty return man.
