Agreed. I know a guy who's a scout for the Bears. He covers parts of the midwest, including Iowa State. As of last year he wasn't very high on the level of talent in that program, and spent more of his attention on SIU (as a point of comparison). That could've since changed, but I doubt it. FWIW, he doesn't cover UNI or Iowa.

I wouldn't put too much stock in what a scout for the *Bears* says about talent.

It's an easy shot to take, but let's get real for a second. I'd certainly take a professional scout's opinion over the average, know little fan. Or the media, 99% of which are clueless about the sport except for terminology and stats.

The above said, the Bears haven't drafted well the last few years. I'm not a big fan of Jerry Angelo, primarily for this reason.

Hey, I was just checking the Raiders' roster on another issue, and noticed that Quentin Scott is now listed on the practice squad. Good news for Quentin. Congrats.

Thanks Trapped. I was wondering what happened with him. The Bears had a big log jam of guys at Safety, so it was tough for him to do anything there. He also didn't distinguish himself during practice, but hopefully that changes in Oakland.

Good for Quentin. He is listed as a LB. This is probably a better position for him in the NFL. I doubt he has the speed for the DB or Safety spots.

Also, Chad Rinehart has been picked up and put on the practice squad of the Jets.

Rinehart has been added to the active roster in Buffalo.

I see that Brandon Keith is no longer listed on the AZ Cardinals roster. Other than that, there seems to be no news.

Beloved Bolts? I don't think I know many Charger fans that would say they are beloved. In fact, they are normally a pretty bitter bunch. As for myself, I finally said enough and switched to the 49ers a few years ago.

Did Anquan Boldin play at UNI? Close enough for me, anyway. I'm happy to see a Panther like Boldin on my 49ers!

4th team in 6 years? I don't follow the NFL close enough to know the reason for that but I wouldn't say that is something that looks good
