There's a list on Twitter of the 40!!! FCS coaches that took FBS jobs in the offseason.

Most of the better teams in FCS have at least one name on that list.

On the bright side...Cal Poly...Who we play early next season, lost their OC and DC to FBS.

      40 Total coaches?

There are 126ish FCS programs. That means there are ~1,000 coaches at the FCS level. If only 40 moved to the FBS, and 3 or 4 of them came from one program that means that no almost no other program is producing coaches at the rate UNI is. It also means UNI has a MUCH worse retention rate than anyone else.

I think it means our prior coaching staff was highly in demand by FBS programs.

Like I said...Cal Poly lost an OC and DC.

Eastern Washington lost their HC and OC.

        NDSU lost their OC.

Also tells good candidates that are looking for a career in college football that working at UNI is not the end of the road but a good start to reach their goals.

If we could pay more we would retain young coaches longer.

Olaitan Oguntodu is now the running backs coach, was the safeties coach the last couple of years, and it looks like he has always coached defense where ever he has been, so that it a little bit interesting to me.

Interesting. I'm guessing with Burris coming in with 10+ years of NFL experience at DB you don't need a secondary and safeties coach. So Olaitan moves to RB's.

Waiting for an announcement on the last offensive coach who'll take WR's and be OC or Co-OC.

Some breaking news...Under a disclaimer that this is unsubstantiated off of Twitter...

Looks like UNI's final offensive assistant will be Rob Phenicie out of Idaho State. Now before anyone overreacts about Idaho State, this guy was OC and QB coach at Montana from 2003-2009 when they made the national championship game twice.

Followed Bobby Hauck to UNLV prior to landing at Idaho State. Appears he was just being promoted from WR coach to OC at Idaho St when he took the UNI job.

We'll see if this turns out to be accurate.

The new hire is now a former hire. Took the head coach job at his old school.
