the Panther volleyball team plays their final OOC match of the regular season Tuesday, traveling to Brookings to take on the South Dakota State Jackrabbits in a 6 p.m. match. (this makes the 3rd UNI/SDSU competition in four days after the swimming and diving team hosted a dual meet against the Jackrabbits, and of course the football game).
SDSU is 6-18 on the season and 0-8 in the Summit League, with RPI and Pablo both in the 290s. Frankly, UNI shouldn't have much of an issue, even on the road with little to no film to study on them. But I suppose it is dangerous to think that way about any opponent. Coach Petersen had a bit of a cold at the Media Luncheon today. Hopefully the players aren't also under the weather, as UNI's small roster doesn't offer many replacement options.

On Saturday, the Panthers take on their travel partner, Drake, in a 7 p.m. home match. This will be UNI's annual Pink match for cancer awareness, and will actually be the second time the Panthers have worn pink jerseys this season, as they did so for their match at Wichita State as well.
Drake (9-11, 1-8 MVC) started off the year with quite a few wins in their nonconference schedule (though most of their opponents weren't terribly challenging). But they haven't had the same success thus far in Valley play, with their lone win coming at home over winless Bradley. Though they have played a number of close matches and took the Redbirds to 5 sets in Normal.
