AJ keeps getting accolades. Would be huge if he would commit but I am not counting on it.

Would not be surprised at all if a big time program offered either.

I would not be surprised if he took one of the offers that everyone on here thinks doesn't make sense. I'm not sure why everything thinks that he wants to be close to home. When I was that age, I had absolutely no issues with moving away from home.

Anecdotal examples are anecdotal.

Were you a student/athlete? Many student/athletes today like to be within 3-4 hours of home so family can continue to watch them play in person...

If it was only about him wanting to be close to home, I don't think we'd have a shot at all. It's about him wanting to play for his dad and for the team that he really grew up around. Kyle left twice for two years each, other than that he's been at UNI for AJs entire life. I'm sure he's been behind the scenes around the program as long as he can remember. If he gets a good enough offer elsewhere, I don't think the location will matter myself. It's just a matter of how good of an offer does he need to give up playing for his dad and not coming to the place he's grown up.

That article makes it very clear how highly he thinks of UNI, which was pretty obvious but clearly nice to see. The biggest thing I got out of it was that he doesn't want to drag this on. That's a good sign for us.

It is kind of interesting that he didn't mention Clemson when talking about the teams individually (that the article mentions at least). There a signing period in the fall isn't there? I'd guess he makes a decision then.

I agree, this article makes you think there's a good chance he'll end up here. Hope so, he continues to be a special talent and would be a great fit.

Sounds like he didn't visit beautiful Palo Alto over the winter, which is good news.

70-80% chance he's coming here??

Not to get greedy, but it would be nice to match him up with a couple of top notch recruits in that class.

Stanford just got a 4-Star PG/SG out of New York, Cormac Ryan. Fairly good chance that they're out of it now. https://www.thescore.com/news/1313371

No actual quotes but I would assume it's basically

"Exciting process but it takes it's toll so I want to end it and have it off my back to just enjoy my senior season"

Basically what it all boils down to he will have any/all offers he's going to get by that time and with the early signing period that's when it will happen.

When it comes to us we need to watch out for a high level P5 coming in on him. I feel very confident outside of a few bit time P5s

I'm convinced that he comes here unless he gets a blueblood or just slightly below (like Mich State or L'ville) offer.

It was free when I read it. Try looking at Ryan James on twitter and see if that link works.

It is a Minnesota heavy article as he is a MN prep writer. They have 3 big AAU tournaments this July....That is when he could be offered by some bigger program. Wants to decide before the start of his senior year. He also talked about how Clemson's on him hard recently.

Still locked for me. But, I think it helps us that he wants to call it so early.

I wonder if they took him to Nitro Circus at Jack Trice Stadium on Saturday. It was pretty awesome!

Scout.com released their updated Class of 2018 rankings. AJ jumped all the way to 64. Other sites have him in the 90s.

There's that unbridled optimism I've been missing. Gosh, don't you ever look on the dark side of life? Seriously, take the homer cap off for just a second.

I guess if Ohio State wants a guy who can't get outta the first weekend of the NCAA tourney, they were talking to the right guy.

No recruiting news, but looks like AJ will be playing in the PTL this summer. He was taken with a couple Panthers - Koch and Pickford. He was actually drafted before Pickford.

Frankly, this gives me much more confidence that he will come here, if he were shopping around at a national level, he'd be on AAU. So at the very least, he's staying local.

He will still be on the AAU circuit. In fact, right now he's being ranked as the #4 PG at the Top 100 camp out east. It's quite impressive.

PTL draft doesn't include Phyfe...know why?

From reports I've seen on here, he's injured, or as some are theorizing, "injured"

Is there an AAU schedule anywhere for him or the Barnstormers?

I did find AJs stats for the current tourney, looks like he's struggling a bit through 4 games. 6.3 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 3.3 apg. That includes one game where he went for 14-6-10.

Phyfe was walking around in a boot at basketball camp yesterday.
