Yeah that's a bummer. I have an office in Houston and was just talking about this with a coworker down there on Friday. Lots of frustration in that city over how the team has tanked but they were thinking they were really going to try to give that coach a chance. Welp.

And they owned it -- all of it -- for the world to see. Like men. Like leaders. Like champions -- in a way no tournament bracket could ever define."

    • David Johnson worked out for Saints yesterday but did not come to terms. Rumblings about the Steelers. They need a RB2. DJ would be a good fit.

I didn't realize he was no longer with the Texans. Did his contract expire or did they release him?

according to this, he had signed a 1-year contract with the Texans for the 2021 season.

          • I think DJ is kind of getting to the end of the road here. Had a great run, got paid big time on the second contract in Arizona which is the end goal here. Maybe somebody takes a flyer at the veteran minimum but he hasn't done enough the last couple of years to get himself much more than that.

Wonder how much different things would have been if he hadn't gone vegan for those two years and in turn couldn't keep any weight or muscle on.

            • If you haven't seen it, check out his twitter post from about a month or so ago. He was on a treadmill that was set at 22mph as he's standing on the side getting ready to jump on. He jumps on and starts running, lets go of holding on and runs for a few seconds before jumping off. Probably something most NFL RB's can do but it seem crazy to me. The VAST majority of humans would be severely injured if they attempted.

You're right. It was a great idea to try to play 2 years at 195 after playing his entire career at 225. His production falling apart at the same time was just a coincidence.

Doesn't really matter. Dude put $45ishM in the bank and that's all that matters.

Agree. DJ could have a shot at RB2 for a team. He is 30 which makes him old for a RB. Would be great if he signed now. However, could be a free agent until after season starts and teams lose players due to injury.
