Default Follow the news on UNI pro athletes (new web site)

Hello Panther fans! The folks at RotoWire have recently launched a new sports site that aggregates their NFL, NBA and MLB professional player news by collegiate affiliation called AlumniAtlas.com. Meaning, you can follow all their Panther news by player on one page. This is not some link scam or advertising ploy. This is a legit site that recently launched and I am just helping them to outreach and get feedback on whether fans like the site and find it useful. For proof, you can see the integration on Alabama's http://www.crimsontusks.com/.

Below is the link to the UNI page. It would really be wonderful if you could review the site and let me know your feedback -- but take into consideration that without football season, the news is obviously a bit slow. Thanks, and have a great weekend. TLW

Having seen Jason not that long ago as well as talking to him on the telephone he has, and is as far as I know, in the Twin Cities with a successful career.

My as well add Grant Stout - Dijon - France to the list.

Or would that be bad luck for team USA?

They couldn't count Rinehart, if they do, we have one more guy in camp this fall than Iowa State, the Rag can't go showing that. They had to leave someone out.

All "hate" aside, the Hawks have a freaking roster in the league this year. That is phenominal, it has to be top ten in college programs as far as guys in the league. Good for them.

Yeah, they've done good work, especially considering the location of the school. I didn't count the Iowa players, but it was in the 20s, right? At one point a couple of years ago, Florida had well over 40 guys in the league, and I'd guess that hasn't gone anywhere but up. The Bears drafted Major Wright with their 3rd or 4th pick this year, and he was a CO-starter at Safety. Still, you could be correct with your top ten guess. Top 20 for sure, I'd think.

I thought he was on the practice squad in Denver, not sure if that is still the case though.

A quick search on Google shows nothing about him being cut in the off season. He must still be on the roster. Anyone have any firm news?

He may still be working with the Broncos, but wikipedia, which I know is the most accurate source, says he's a free agent that the Broncos may or may not still be signed with.

Matt Schneiderman has signed with Lugano of the Swiss A league for his seventh season as a pro. Lugano will play in the Euroleague challenge series and part of their pre-season games will be in Russia. Also as a side note, Ali Faroukmanesh signed with Massagno of the same league. Massagno is 3-4 miles from Lugano in Southern Switzerland.

Thanks for the update on Schneids. I hope he and Ali are able to get together some.

According to ESPN, Iowa has 37. Florida has 43. Texas has 51, Ohio State has 49. Those aren't necessarily the schools with the most -- I just picked some for comparison. There's not an easy list showing the top-20 or whatever.

Just for the record the Register's list has been updated to show Rinehart in a camp now giving us 8 in camps, and ISU 7. That is a really good thing that we have more guys in camps than a Big XII school. Even if it is ISU.

Agreed. I know a guy who's a scout for the Bears. He covers parts of the midwest, including Iowa State. As of last year he wasn't very high on the level of talent in that program, and spent more of his attention on SIU (as a point of comparison). That could've since changed, but I doubt it. FWIW, he doesn't cover UNI or Iowa.

I wouldn't put too much stock in what a scout for the *Bears* says about talent.

It's an easy shot to take, but let's get real for a second. I'd certainly take a professional scout's opinion over the average, know little fan. Or the media, 99% of which are clueless about the sport except for terminology and stats.

The above said, the Bears haven't drafted well the last few years. I'm not a big fan of Jerry Angelo, primarily for this reason.

Hey, I was just checking the Raiders' roster on another issue, and noticed that Quentin Scott is now listed on the practice squad. Good news for Quentin. Congrats.

Thanks Trapped. I was wondering what happened with him. The Bears had a big log jam of guys at Safety, so it was tough for him to do anything there. He also didn't distinguish himself during practice, but hopefully that changes in Oakland.

Good for Quentin. He is listed as a LB. This is probably a better position for him in the NFL. I doubt he has the speed for the DB or Safety spots.

I see that Brandon Keith is no longer listed on the AZ Cardinals roster. Other than that, there seems to be no news.
