That will definately help out especially with the loss of Barz. Is there a link to his bio somewhere?

t was the fourth game in four days for UCI, which might have benefited from the depth that was significantly diminished when community college transfer Adam Rodenberg was first felled by a season-ending hernia, then left the program. Coach Pat Douglass’ roster took another hit when senior guard Chuma Awaji was lost for the season due to academic eligibility.

Rodenberg, sidelined after starting the first six games, averaged 6.8 points and 2.7 rebounds. His strength inside would undoubtedly have given Douglass greater options and helped senior center Darren Fells remain better rested for the stretch run.

We wont truly know until this time next year, but I'm very optimistic. Work ethic usually translates to the college level.

what do you mean by this? Did he not perform well or wasn't he really involved in AAU?

His AAU team didn't really travel. That's all. Performance wasnt the issue. Also, he'll be appearing in Missouri vs Illinois All-Star game tomorrow in the main event. He's also been selected for another All-Star Game on April 12th.

I'm just wondering when all the posters who bash the two Kerwin fans on here are going to start in on these two James fans.

Or do you wait until the player is actually on campus? No I can remember a lot of bashing after Kerwin committed and was still a senior at BF.

Maybe, its all the video footage of James. I saw him catch two backdoor lobs against McCluer HS and their D1 prospect Lonnie Boga. Its just rare that you have a guard his size that can dunk off of one leg and two legs. One legged jumpers dont usually catch lobs. He can go off of one leg and two legs at around 6'1 or 6'2. And he also has NBA range on the shot and shoots it so consistently. On top of that, the strength of his game might be the pull up jumper off the dribble.

Its early Gonzo...

Plus there is a clear difference here. There haven't been 89 threads started on how awesome this kid is. Plus, these new posters aren't putting down the current players/program to put their guy up.

Like Trump said it is early, and these guys aren't saying that James should start a head of proven players and that Kerwin is the will/are be the best player on the team with every post.

I also think that James has FAR more upside that Kerwin. Not that Kerwin will be a bad player, I just think that James will be better

It might be online on prepcasts.com, but I'm not sure. It starts at 8:00. There are two MO vs Ill All-Star Games today. James is in the Main Event at 8:00. The other game starts at 6:00. If I can get a camera from one of my staff members, we'll tape it and have some footage on the website in the near future. If not, I'll give you a recap of how he played.

James had 16 points. He only played 5 minutes in 2nd half, coach's decision. He was the game's high scorer at the time and was carrying them when he was pulled midway through the 3rd quarter. He was put back in for 30 seconds and then never got back in. He got the Hustle Award for the Missouri team.

These new posters and the way they talk about James are just as bad as the two Bondu fans though

Yes I've seen the footage, I've had no choice. It seems like every post is about him and has footage of some kind. I agree he is good. I still think it would be best to red shirt him a year. You obviously are extremely biased towards him starting for four years and taking half the teams shots. Heck, I wouldn't be shocked if you were either A) related to him B) a very close friend, or C)him.

I don't think that he is the best thing since sliced bread, or whatever the saying you use in STL is.

He is/will be a good player, but get over yourself/him "superstar". He won't be the team when he gets here. In fact, I'm still more impressed with Moran as a complete player.

What exactly are you a superstar in?

What? Punctuation, grammar, and complete words would be very much appreciated. Anyway, we need a player like him? He will help us a lot in the coming years, but to say we need him is slightly egocentric. We played this year without a true PG and another one of our guards missing half the season.

I've covered the area for years, independently and as STL HOOPS INSIDER. This year, Saint Louis had many D1 commits or signees including Scott Suggs (Washington), John Brandenburg (UVA), and the #29 player in the country Anthony Booker (SIUC). The fact that James has been picked to play alongside those guys in All-Star Games speaks volumes. Also, he's the 2nd leading scorer at Normandy HS, which has produced a lot of All-Americans over they years, and he did it in only 3 years. Its a talented area to draw from.

I don't like the STL? Why would I not like St. Louis? I have no problem with St. Louis other than the Cardinals.

I've never questioned his talent, if it came off that way I'm sorry for that. I think he can be a great, but I think a red shirt would be best for both parties. I get that James' "homeboy" doesn't think so, but realistically either James or Moran will probably have to red shirt. I see it being James because of the lack of a true PG on campus right now. That red shirt year would also allow James to refine those skills into the UNI style of play and put some size one that lanky frame of his.

STL HOOPS INSIDER, thank you for being respectable with your posts about him. They are more than informative, without a huge bias saying he will be the best thing to ever happen to UNI.
