Jays 25-20, then 32-30. We had multiple chances to win, but could not get two points in a row.

Creighton finished off the sweep 27-25. UNI had opportunities, but just couldn't get over the hump in any of the sets.

This afternoon, the Panthers faced the host team USC, which was in the top 5 in the preseason polls, but had a slow start and dropped out of the rankings after an 0-3 week.
They are getting back into form this weekend though, with a sweep of Kentucky last night.
Today, UNI again was competitive, dropping the first two sets 25-21 and 25-21. In the third set, the Panthers overcame a 11-20 deficit and took their first ever set against USC, 26-24. Then they had a late lead in the 4th, hoping to force a fifth set, but the women of Troy pulled off a late run to win the set 25-23 and take the match.

Currently underway is a match between Creighton and Kentucky, and then at 7 p.m. (CDT), UNI will take on Kentucky (so hopefully the CU/UK match is a long grueling 5-setter). The Wildcats roster includes junior MB, Kaz Brown out of Waterloo (went to CFHS) and sophomore OH, Brooke Morgan out of Dike. Both are starters (or at least in their primary rotation).

That match starts at 7 p.m. tonight: Gametracker / Video (free) / Audio (free)

Looks like we were competitive in all the sets. Hopefully will get a sweep this weekend.

UN-Omaha and UMKC are definitely winnable. But that match against #4 Kansas in Lawrence will be a tough one. (though they did just go 5 sets at home against Arkansas)
