Default Jeremy Hellickson

Des Moines native Jeremy Hellickson has the Tampa Bay area and Major League Baseball talking. Some are putting him in Rookie of the Year category for early accomplishments.

I know that the rules for MLB are different when it comes to being a rookie, and allowing players to have a certain amount of games before they give up their rookie status, but is Hellickson still eligible for rookie of the year?

Yep, Hellickson's stats for last season fell short of qualifying it (2010) as a "season."

50 innings is the rule I believe for pitcher's to be rookies. Also you cannot be on a roster more than 45 days prior to Sept 1 of the previous year.
