As a part of the scheduling agreement between UNI and St. Mary's, the Gaels will play a return game in the McLeod Center in the 2012-13 season.

So, is the game 1:00 a.m. Tuesday morning or Wednesday morning? This game will start on a different day depending on whether you are in California and Iowa right?

On UNI's website it says the game will tip at 1 a.m. Iowa time on Tues., Nov. 15, which would be 11 p.m. (local time) on Mon., Nov. 14.

Sweet! I have to imagine that it was a pretty enticing matchup for ESPN, since we shocked the world in Oklahoma City two seasons ago only a few hours after St. Mary's upset Villanova.

Single game non-conference tickets do not go on sale from St Mary's until Oct 23. Tickets may be available in the secondary marker before then from season ticket holders.

I will be contacting UNI Alumni Assoc volunteering to host an event.

@St. Mary's, @ODU, @ISU, Iowa, @bracketbuster, is a heck of a non-conference schedule

If it wasn't for the interstate rivalry, I'd question that matchup with UI in terms of SOS.

Like the opponent, would of rather had a "money" bcs game but this is still good.

I have 1 question though: If you are on ESPN when everyone in the country is asleep, is there any point to it?

Since this is part of the TipOff Marathon does UNI see any $$ for this game or is it simply a home and home?

really? i doubt many mid majors turn down straight up home and homes with high major schools regardless of how bad they are.

Agreed. It will always be one of our best selling home tickets regardless of how good or bad Iowa is.

That is going to be a rough road trip travelwise. I don't think the time for TV is too bad, it could be worse. I think college basketball fanatics (especially west coasters) will try to tune in for this one, at least the first half or so.

I'm thinking put the kids to bed early that night, hit the sack myself for a few winks, then get up to watch the Panthers in the middle of the night. Does the OP deliver at that hour?

Yes that is a good schedule and if the Panthers come out of that unbeaten, watch out this is a heck of a good team. Even without Jordan.

Just got a reply from the Alumni Association. They are willing to send decorations, but no help for an event before (after?) the St Mary's game. Anyone seriously coming out to NorCal for the game? Wondering if I should invest any effort in this?

Don't suppose I could volunteer to host the team for dinner? I am certain that anything beyond a raised eyebrow or wink would be considered an NCAA violation.

I'm pretty sure that if the whole team is invited (team activity) and no money is switching hands that your idea of a team dinner is legal. PM me if you have any further questions on this.

Nice show with the school spirit, Trapped. Given your geographic separation, I'm glad to hear the game is so close. Remember to yell loudly and wear 18 layers of UNI clothing. Given the timing and the distance, even the most ardent supporter/parent would have a hard time with this trip. You might be one of the few Panthers in the gym that night.
