Please please, do not paint some god-awful paint scheme on it for next year. I really really hope they stick to the same design for the most part.
Really cool though that we are getting that floor from our first S16. I wonder what will become of the old floor? I would love to get a piece of that.

This is pretty cool. I wonder what will become of the old floor. Will we sell it to another school? Will they sell off the old floor? I would love to have a section big enough to floor the Panther room in a house someday.

We need a new floor already @ McLoed? Or was simply transfered in from the UNIDOME?

I was just going to get a tee shirt and a DVD, this is taking souvenirs to a whole new level.

It was there for the last couple of years of the UNI-Dome. Someone said in another thread (when it was suggested we should set it up in the Dome for practice) that it was not easy to assemble and required a lot of TLC.

The court at McLeod was the one that was transferred from the dome. I wonder if it'd be worth installing that one in the west gym or if that's even feasible...

Considering it's not really used for anything but wrestling anymore, I don't see the need.

i am a student worker at the dome/mcleod and have installed and removed our current floor a few times. IMO a new floor was need. the ends of the individual sections were starting to chip. I cant think of a better floor to get than the one we played out first sweet 16 on. Lets make it an even more memorable floor.

I could be totally wrong but I think I've heard from a couple people that the floor they had before the current one was bought by Young Arena.

If my memory is correct the floor before the current one was the first wooden floor in the UNI-Dome and was on extended loan from McElroy Auditorium. Part of getting Eldon Miller to come to UNI was we needed a wooden floor, instead of the tartan floor we had been using, which was built into the original UNI-Dome floor.

That is awesome.
I'd buy a square foot of the old floor.

Excellent! Okay Panther faithful --- when you storm the court, everybody take a piece and bring it back. We can help save a few $ on the shipping costs.

Wow! we have to have some signs that have something to do with this being our court, No one wins on our court, etc.
We finished the season without a blemish on our home court let's not change that!

So this game in STL will literally be a home court advantage to us.
The only changes I would make to the new court design, are possibly removing the basketball design on the free throw circle, and then making the Valley log in the lane purple and gold instead of red. And maybe make the midcourt logo a little big bigger, but not obnoxiously big like WSU, Illinois State, or Kansas.

Do we just hitch it up to the bus before we leave town? I mean it's already elevated so it shouldn't take much to throw some wheels under it.

I would go with a big obnoxious Panther head in the middle. Let people know where they are.
Also, the lanes need to be purple with the Valley logo in gold.

I would LOVE to have an opportunity to get a piece of the old floor, it'd look great next to my square of turf from the dome.

I think we should give our old floor to the team that gets UNI's hand me downs (aka Iowa State)

Be kind of neat to keep it as is for the first season. I really think they should do that if they go to the final 4.

As long as there's no black or white on it, because after all.... neither of those are school colors

Just for some SNG's I did 2 quick, and yes I mean quick, MS Paint mock ups. Paint didn't have a good wood color so I just left the floor white. You'll have to use your imagination some.
Feel free to bash away The first is an all purple theme. I didn't want to try to redo the Valley logo but make the white purple to match the lane and make the valley logo yellow. ![]() The second is an all wood floor theme. Again I didn't want to mess with the Valley logo because it is a pain but it would be purple
