  • Sharing tickets from iOS Wallet

We have a couple extra tickets so we can share UNI basketball with friends.

Note that tickets are digital, I am trying to figure out if I can text my extra tickets to them.

    I can’t figure it out.

There Apple website says, “If you don't see the share icon, the merchant or company that issued the pass or ticket hasn't enabled sharing in the Wallet app.”

I’ve been sharing tickets all football season (I send out 10-15 for each home game). Initially I was sending the actual tickets. However, that wasn’t working for everyone. I’ve found taking a screen shot of the tickets and sending that out is the most effective. It’s easier AND works for everyone.

I know the instructions say not to do that, but we haven’t had a single issue all season.

back in the spring seasons (fb and vb), my parents would forward their ticket emails to me and I would print their tickets out on paper for them, which scanned just fine at the door.
but that didn't involve iOS at all, and they might have changed things since the spring
(I wouldn't put it past the UNI ticket office to make things as difficult as possible for this sort of thing)

My parents have forwarded tickets to me this fall and winter, and it works fine.

And they owned it -- all of it -- for the world to see. Like men. Like leaders. Like champions -- in a way no tournament bracket could ever define."

Has anyone had success texting the ticket to a non-iOS device? That’s where we typically have issues.

                Well, I had issues.

                What I did:

Hold-click on the ticket on Safari my phone. "Share..." Texted to the person using it. Did for each ticket.

                What happened:

One person - it worked fine for two tickets
The other person (my wife and son who came a little late) - one ticket worked, the other didn't. Rejected at the gate. In the end, I assured the two at the gate that we had 6 tickets and only 6 people there and we just kinda walked by and they didn't stop us.

                Tonight what I'm doing:

Tried the Hold-click on Safari and texted. The recipient couldn't bring it up. "Expired."

Plan B. I downloaded the pdf and split the pages and sent those out.

                Will report back...

That was the issue we were having texting them out. We tested the photos with 100% success.

I don’t always see everyone pregame so the ability to text the tickets before hand has made it really, really easy.

Can they scan the image on your phone or do tickets really need to printed?

I texted and emailed PDFs. Worked. No paper
