Smoker played the first three plays of the Rams' final series before hometown favorite Russ Michna came in.

The Western Illinois University product completed his first pass, for 17 yards to former Gateway Conference rival Mike Furrey from Northern Iowa. But then an incompletion, a fumbled snap and two sacks mixed in with three runs before the scrimmage ended.

"I should have hit Mike again," Michna said. "He got his hands on it, but the pass wasn't right where it needed to be."
