On the Prowl: Prowling With Buddies- UNI 31, YSU 23
After weighing all of my options, Beck's seemed to be the way to go as far as watching the game against the Youngstown State Penguins on Saturday. I got a call from my friend Derek Bloomquist, a good friend and fellow band fraternity brother (yes, there's a band fraternity) and we headed out, albeit a little late since he had to work right up until three. Derek's friend Dane Dickinson, an RA in Noehren Hall was also coming with us, likely glad to get out of the his room he had not-so-affectionately called "The Fishbowl."
We arrived a little after three. Derek broke quite a few traffic laws as Gary Rima tried to shout above our cheers eminating from the car. We got in and couldn't find a seat down below, but did run into Zach French, a veteran member of the cheerleading squad. After getting out the obligatory complaints about how life as a band member/cheerleader is rough but we wouldn't have it any other way, we decided that going upstairs would be the only way to find a seat.
Joined later by Paul Lee, one of those coveted out-of-state students from St. Louis and a friend of Dane's, the five us cheered uproariously at every Panther touchdown, fumble recovery, and key interception as our eternally dedicated waitress continued to keep our drinks filled.
