Thanks Blue. David Johnson is co-chair this year. PM me if you have any questions - I'd love to help. Blue is right --- the PSC is vital and we need to keep it healthy and grow its size.
"...the Northern Iowa men's basketball team reached the ultimate highs before hitting a devastating low. Unexpected success, followed by unimaginable failure. And they owned it -- all of it -- for the world to see. Like men. Like leaders. Like champions -- in a way no tournament bracket could ever define."

Trekman Racing will host its 2nd Annual Run4UNI on April 29th. This is a 4 mile run/walk whose course is the UNI campus. Completion of the event will be through the UNI Dome ending on the 50 yard line of the football field. Proceeds from this event go to the Panther Scholarship Club. Participants can see themselves finish on the big screen as they enter the field towards the finish line and also partake in Single Speed beer for free after the conclusion of the event. This year they are adding a 1 mile fun run as well. Anyone interested can sign up through Trekman Racing. Only sharing this because it is a wonderful fundraiser for PSC and is another way to contribute to the cause.

I was in attendance at the PSC Christmas gathering this past Monday night. The highlight of the evening was short talks by four UNI athletes (2 fb, 1 mbb, 1 sb). Each student-athlete told about how they came to UNI, their experiences while here, and their future plans. To hear them speak would make you "feel the UNI spirit." Afterwards, David Harris announced that the PSC fund drive is $50,000 short of topping last year's donations. A generous donor has pledge $25,000, IF the other $25,000 can be raised by Dec. 31st. Harris even joked that Nathan C. will not be able to leave for the Christmas holiday until this is accomplished. (!) If you could have heard the passion that these student-athleties spoke about UNI, you'd be proud to contribute to each and every one of our athletes. So, if you have a little extra you could give before the end of the year to help meet this matching pledge, contact Nathan Christensen at 319-273-6443 (office) or 319-212-0874 (cell). The athletes will THANK YOU for your support! Go Panthers!

Thanks for sharing. This would be huge to break another record for the PSC. Give, give, give! Every little bit helps!

The four senior speakers were all from Iowa too: Brooke Craig (Waterloo, softball), Miles Wentzien (Fort Madison, basketball), Cal Twait (Manson, football) and Marcus Weymiller (Waukon, football). They all did a great job and were very passionate about UNI and humbled by the support from PSC members. Let's break the record for money raised to support these student-athletes before the year ends!
