  • Tressel's Trail....

don't know if this has been brought up on this site before, but with all the things going on at Ohio State, how much are the 1AA National Titles won by Tressel's Youngstown State teams tainted just considering what has happened at OSU? i really don't know what to think, especially considering he was the AD and head coach at YSU....how could that happen out there like it did in the Big Ten and at OSU (is my feeling)....

    any thoughts??

    Here

They are not saying much about Tress past history up at YSU at all. They are acting like he didn't even coach at YSU. I will keep you all posted in details come out in the paper or TV media.

There was an interesting article written by ESPN.com about a former player that received improper benefits while at YSU. The thing about those YSU teams were that they never actually out-talented people. They just would never make mistakes, capitalize on turnovers, played good defense, and were extremely effecient on offense. They would run the ball on 1st and 2nd down and if they had to they would throw a pass for however many ever yards they needed for a first down. Total ball control, not a lot of big plays. They seemed to always beat the really good teams, but played bad teams close because they weren't a big-play offense. Tressel took this to OSU with and it was eerily similar to watching the YSU of old.

        Here is the article: enjoy!

Youngstown is where it all began for Jim Tressel and Maurice Clarett.
