A couple obversvations from the game. Unfortunately, there was a hold in the middle of the field on Fort's INT. It was the defender behind Fort. The late hit on Fort in the the end zone was bush-league! Ind St's O line got away with so much holding! Our seats are in the 3rd row so we saw it up close several times, including on Bell's 27 yd run on their first possion of the game. An O linemen grabbed a Panther D-linemen's jersey in the middle of the back right in front of the umpire and another side official.

The O line struggled, but the drive in the 4th was big to put away the game. Ind State's D line was gassed in the 4th quarter. I thought #79 for the Trees was going to toss his cookies.

Some issues with execution! Why didn't the Panthers have two plays called coming out of the break after the end of the 3rd quarter when UNI was down on the goal line. UNI runs a play and then calls a timeout. If they had been able to hurry up and run the second game they might have been able to punch the ball in.

I thought the crowd was pretty good, especially in the 2nd half.

With the lateness of the flag you would think it would have to have been for taunting. Either way, I watched the video of it ten times and while I can see calling a helmet to helmet penalty, there is no way that was intentional or dirty. Bell was low and driving and #20 came in like a rocket underneath him.
sometimes officials will more or less flag an entire situation.
the hit on Bell might not have drawn a flag by itself, and Varmah's jawing might not have drawn a flag by itself, but with them both together (and with the injury thrown in), the guy in stripes thought it deserved a flag.

UNI has benefitted from flags on opponents in similar situations before.
