I'm proud to say I have no Hawk shirts. But I can only make this one game and I like wearing my UNI fotball jersey I bought way back around 94 or 95.

I just looked at SIU's season results so far and I'm struggling to find highlights. They beat a SEMO team that has won one game all year. They beat a winless MSU team by two points at home. They were only beat by NDSU 9-3. Lost to an Ole Miss team that is winless in the SEC. Lost to average conference foes WIU and YSU.

Maybe Houndawg can jump in and provide some perspective.

SIU did lose their starting QB somewhere in the past two-three weeks. That certainly has not helped.

Their season resume wasn't overly impressive last year going into their game against UNI either, but they ended up beating us. Granted, that was in Carbondale, but still.

This is a rivalry game that both teams get fired up for. As the cliche goes, you can throw the record books out the window.

That's probably a highlight if anything. And if there is anything to learn from that's result OTHER than NDSU being less than advertised and vulnerable, we can see that SIU can still compete with the top of the league. I would say this is a team that struggles to find motivation and intensity. They have been leading in quite a few of those losses and then coughed it up.

Last week was especially hard to swallow for them according to my friend on the team. I'd say that makes them the most dangerous team on the schedule right now as they would love nothing more than to highlight their season by smacking us in the mouth and continue their winning streak over us. We'd better be 100% ready and fired up to whip them all the way back to Carbondale or we could be in trouble.
