      I just saw KC Keeler not wearing sunglasses in the Dome. James Ruffin was a BEAST.

            How many times did we almost get to Flacco, but he got rid of the ball just before, some probably could have been intentional grounding but he was the 1st qb we couldn't consistently sack that year.

            Why did we stop giving the ball to C-Lew?

              So since it's the off season and I'm terribly bored, I'm re-watching the UNI/Wisconsin game from last year. Might just leave off the end though. It's on BTN2go still for those of you interested. I believe the Iowa game is on there still as well.

              /I know UNI loses. I was there. I don't know of any big games that UNI has won that are available online anywhere though, so if anybody has any, please post some sources.

                Ahhhh, the days of NFL quality lineman on both sides of the ball. Those memories seem very distant.

                Just imagine DJ running behind (and through holes created by) Howard, Rinehart, and Keith. I'm thinking he would average about 7 YPC and we would be the first team to win the NC without attempting a single pass.

                  It's almost unimaginable to think about how talented those teams that we had were. To have that level of talent on an FCS team is almost impssible.

                  Rinehart, Keith, Howard, Ruffin, Pedescleux, and Mahaffey all played in the NFL. Oordt came close. Swift probably would have made it if not for his knees. In addition to all those guys we had Eric Sanders and Corey Lewis, maybe the best ever at their positions in UNI history, along with a slew of other tremendous talent all over the field.

                  Its pretty amazing that we couldn't manage to win a title in the years from 05-09 with that talent.

                      That remains to be fully seen yet. Some of that could be in the line as but right now I'd have a hard time with that assessment.

                        Yep. I get sad when I think about that time period.

                        2005- One play the other way in the title game
                        2006- I don't know how that team lost to W. Ill at home. I still blame the banner
                        2007- Flacco, the man just wins.
                        2008- We were the best team, we just couldn't finish

                        Just shows you do need some breaks to win it all. Heck Appy St. was just as close to winning just one title when they won three. We could have beaten them and the fumble against JMU (I think) in the first rd in 2007.

                        Oh well.. if and's and but's were candy and nuts...

                          Our 2007 team probably wins the NC in any other year. Flacco just could not be stopped.

                              Yes, very true. Another reason we probably win the NC in any other year. That App State team was crazy good. IIRC they were receiving consistent votes in the AP top 25 all year long.
