I think Jake will be able to get a medical.

Jake already used a medical redshirt at KU didn't he?

Knowing the NCAA they'll look at his case...and then call Grant Gibbs to suit up for 2014-15 season.

        redshirted at Kansas in 2010
suffered a leg injury and did not see action as a redshirt freshman in 2011.
transferred to UNI and played as a sophomore in 2012
played in 5 games this year as a junior before breaking his leg

i posted in the other thread as well, but i am more optimistic about the medical waiver possibility because the NCAA has broken precedence recently. still a long shot, but worth pursuing.

Cool stuff, and the NDSU crowd gave him 2 standing ovations on way out with cart....if the game wasn't so close it would of been more emotional .....total respect.

Bohl on radio tonight said at handshake, he asked about jake, and Farley said he wa going to hospital right away. Said the 2 get along when not playing each other

So... Despite all the accusations being made about the handshake, there was nothing to speak of. Making something of nothing. Who's surprised?

Not me. The sports press, following the lead of ESPN, seem to be all about following or attempting to create drama. IMO, this phenomenon started about 10 years ago. While I'm a big fan of sports talk radio, they're as guilty as anyone of fostering this. This is especially true in football, since the vast majority of journalists really don't understand the nuances of the game, and can't just analyze numbers to rate/compare things (unlike baseball, where pure numbers are far more applicable).

Lakesbison speaks the truth. The dome got real quiet because everyone knew what happened and Jake got a loud applause when being taken off.

It is just a game after all. We sure love seeing the big hits but it sure isn't fun watching the damage they can cause. Hope for the speedy recovery!
