Again-not complaining at all about having traffic and fans staying. Letting cars into a lot that is trying to empty is counter-productive. Sitting at a standstill, as in no car moving anywhere, for 45 minutes is frustrating at best (even in the "big city") hence commenting on the "ledge" post.

Re: Ababdon ship!
They don't handle the parking lot exiting very well in Ames either. Massive traffic congestion is just counter-cultural to Central Iowa. So, just sit back and listen to the post-game radio show. This is just another day at the office (literally, trying to get home from the office) in big cities.
I would much rather have worse traffic with fans staying to the end than easy traffic with fans leaving early.

It took us some time too, but we had a lot of people alternate and got out relatively easily. All I was saying is that having traffic means that fans were around to see the nd of the game.

Perfect opportunity for a screen pass or shuffle pass, but I don't remember seeing any such play.

Re: Ababdon ship!
sounds like a good opportunity to do some postgame tailgating while waiting for the traffic to clear out. Dunno if that's within the "rules", but oh well.

I could out him due to his UNI personalized plate, but probably shouldn't. When we got to the street, there was one guy in a yellow vest standing on the grass watching. He could have been in the middle letting people from the north, the PSC lost and the McLeod lot go in turn, but left it to chaos. BTW, I will never complain about people leaving a game early ever again. Please leave early so you can cut that 10-15 minute drive down. Please.

Re: Ababdon ship!
The A- is they did what they were told to do, Yes the O line brought down the rest of the offense, but I leave it up to the coaching staff to adjust and find a weakness in the opponents defense. I saw it how come the coaches didn't? Fake the ball to Johnson 2-3 times their defense adjusts and then send Johnson down their throats!
I still think the players put their heart into the game! That is what counts for the A-.
Hope that satisfies your question.

But Come-on folks UNI might have played their worst game since the playoffs against Lehigh.
Sitting in traffic only means that we had fans there and did not leave after the half which usually occurs, and we usually have the game in hand, boy I guess we have become spoiled!
Personally, I believe our players did what they were told and executed as well as could be expected (with an exception of a few dropped balls).
Points:
The defense was on the field almost three times as long as the offense. I noticed when our defense changed lines it affected the others team most of the time. I believe that they did not know their weakness or the the new line was fresher and wanted to make plays and did. Hopefully a lesson learned and it will increase the depth of the defense therefore not relying on one or two key players.
Our defense plain and simple got worn down, with our offensive potential we should wear down the other teams defense.
Offensively whom ever was making certain calls for plays should have noticed that almost every time we faked a hand-off to Johnson the Saluki defense bit and we were able to get 4-8 yards or so on those plays.
The dropped balls were/are an issue in this game, make a couple good catches and it would have been lights out on the Salukis.
I only wonder if Kollmorgan has the green light to change plays if he sees something on the field, I think if he sees the field well enough he could easily control an offensive game plan or make tweaks to it on the field.
Game plan from here on out play hard keep the pedal to the metal and don't stop until the game is over.
I still believe in these young men playing hard and will go places in the play-offs, there seems to be something with them, but they did not have it last night. Again I totally believe they played the game the coaches wanted.
Grade for yesterdays game:
Players: A- overall the minus comes from dropped passes.
Coaches: D+
Defense coaches: B-, you have inspired the team to play hard nosed defense like I remember we used to play.
Offense: D- to F, Adjustments were made but it definitely was not enough and probably made the players think twice.

When you have 16,000 + people in a small area = you can't show up five minutes before a game and expect to get in for kick-off or get home in five minutes after the game.
I hope we have that much traffic for very other home game. It means we're still having a full house for home games. That makes the games more fun for me.
