  • Injuries

By my count there have been 18 Panthers who have had to miss extended game action due to an injury, some of these came back into the same game or returned next week but all had the chance to help the team.

    Carnes
    Brown
    Johnson
    Williams
    Mitchell
    Wright
    Kilfoy
    Whiting
    Gacke
    Busher
    Tim
    O'Brien
    Farley
    Wallace
    Rohr
    LeMaster
    Albrecht
    Williams

Like I said some of these haven't missed significant time, but they are probably playing dinged up.

I doubt there is another FCS team with this many injuries to significant players.

Keep in mind, too -- just because a player plays on Saturday doesn't mean he hasn't missed some practice during the week.
"...the Northern Iowa men's basketball team reached the ultimate highs before hitting a devastating low. Unexpected success, followed by unimaginable failure. And they owned it -- all of it -- for the world to see. Like men. Like leaders. Like champions -- in a way no tournament bracket could ever define."

Wow...knew it was bad, but didn't know it was THAT extensive. Ugh.
Give us a yell, HO! The purple and the gold
      Victory for U-N-I!

Find out what the other team wants to do, then take it away from them.

I mean... we had to pull a WR off redshirt status on Saturday.

Like last year with Hall and Kilfoy? I'm sure it has helped them but I really wish that beast we have playing "rover" were technically a Freshman. Hall is a stud

Could you list which ones are out for the year? The NFL was like a battlefield yesterday...so many serious injuries!

                Re: Injuries

Is there a way for Kilfoy to get his game suspension back once they review the call? At least we didn't lose a player for the first half this week for his unsportsmanlike tackle. Too bad Gacke couldn't have gotten that call for an unnecessarily rough block from Southern Illinois.

Ben Jacobson coached teams = 2
UNI teams coached by everyone ban thinks is better = 0

Kilfoy already served his suspension. The "targeting" penalty was called in the first half, so there is no carryover to this week. Unless you are referring to something else.

suffered a concussion during the NDSU game, from what I gather.

Yes. Didn't practice until Thursday going into the SIU game.

No, I know he served. Just that there is no way to review the call and undo the suspension for the second half that he missed.

Unfortunately, most junior highs are done with their football seasons so we may see that crew again.

The only one I didn't understand was the Unnecessary Roughness penalty for tackling too hard.

It can't be targeting because he wasn't defenseless and it wasn't helmet to helmet. I have no earthly idea how that can be a penalty...

Farley said the ref was unable to give him an explanation and that he still doesn't understand that one either.
