  • So we play South Dakota This weekend

The yotes hung with Youngstown state but won and lost against the bottom of the Big Sky. Thoughts on heading to their mini-dome?

    Felling pretty good 35-21 panthers
Oh, and let me make this perfectly clear to you people: you go to UNI, NOT IOWA. The Hawkeyes and their fans do not give a crap if you remain "true to them" or some stupid self-fulfulling bullcrap like that.-OTP

I just can't emotionally invest. I know the ending.

7-4 or 6-5. Big win on Thanksgiving weekend in front of 4000 people. Loss in Fargo the next weekend.

    Basketball starts in 23 days...

Literally every game, except maybe MSU at home, is a losable game for us. 6 or 7 wins is not a given.

Jeebus, you'd think we were 0-4 blown out every game. We are 2-2 with an FBS win(albeit its ISU) with two losses to top-10 teams, this is what you get when you schedule non-fluffy teams. Yes every game from here on out is losable but its also that every game is winnable. We aren't even to the half way point of the season let alone conference slate.

Agreed. I'm not exactly thrilled, because I agree to some extent with BC about seeing this show before, but I'm not giving up on them yet.
Give us a yell, HO! The purple and the gold
          Victory for U-N-I!

Find out what the other team wants to do, then take it away from them.

            Absolutely, I agree with you.

On the other hand, the last 5 consecutive seasons have played out almost exactly like this one has started and it gives most of us zero confidence that we are on the brink of winning 8 games in a row en route to a conference title. And make no mistake, you are going to have to 8-0 or 7-1 at the very worst to win this league.

Too many scars of awful losses and blowing home games in recent years.

I will feel a little more optimistic if we win on Saturday.

History has shown that we'll lose one game we have no business losing to make sure that we have to play Thanksgiving Weekend and then go on the road for December. You can't win a title that way.

We're slowly but surely becoming an also-ran in this league and I'm just not going to let myself believe that we're more than that anymore. This is also not an anti-Farley post. It's damn hard to win 8 games a year, but his window of ever winning it all slammed shut in Normal, Illinois in 2009.

This is a team that could easily go 8-0 in conference, we play NDSU and SDSU at home, and don't play Illinois State. I know we usually lose a game we have no business losing but, there is no game that scares me.

And we had home-field advantage all the the way through the playoffs in '07 and '08, lost in the Dome anyway.

The list of teams that have come into the Dome and won in the last 7 years continues to grow and includes teams like Lehigh and South Dakota.

No this is what you get from the fans when you play a quarterback that can't throw for what seems like a decade's worth of continuous seasons.

I am not alone, many people I work with are Eason ticket holders and we are all just going through the motions. Everybody knows how it ends. If it wasn't for the nice weather and tailgating the butts in seats would be awful.

If you accept the concept that UNI has lost its' game that it shouldn't lose, then there could be optimism for the rest of the season. However, UNI is capable of losing more of a head-scratcher than either of the two previous losses. That is why the title of this thread is so gung-ho for the game this weekend.

How do you get through the day?

If and when we beat NDSU...that will make us State champs so all is well in the world.
