UNI Football Confidence Picks Game

Would anyone like to play a game that uses confidence points for predictions of UNI football? Essentially, I think of it as a UNI football season version of a confidence picks game for predicting the winners of bowl games.

Here is how the Confidence Picks game works:

First, before the kickoff of the UNI/Iowa State, pick whether UNI wins or loses in each of its games.

Second, assign confidence points for each pick (1 through 11 with 11 being the pick for which you are the most confident).

Then, sit back and watch. Or change your confidence picks for games that have not started and confidence points that have not been used. If you make changes, do so with a reply post which I will check, not an edited post which I would probably never see.

If your prediction for the game was correct, then you get the points. If your prediction was incorrect, then you lose the points. This gives us a big range of +66 to -66 points for the season.

I will post standings after each weekend.

Example. Here is a set of confidence picks for UNI: #11 beat Iowa State, #10 beat Cal Poly, #9 beat Southern Utah, #8 beat Southern Illinois, #7 beat Western Illinois, #6 beat South Dakota State, #5 beat Youngstown State, #4 beat North Dakota State, #3 beat South Dakota, #2 beat Missouri State, #1 beat Indiana State. So, I picked UNI to win all games, but if they actually win nine games (Iowa State, Cal Poly, Southern Utah, Southern Illinois, Western Illinois, South Dakota State, South Dakota, Missouri State, Indiana State), here is how the scoring would work:

• Iowa State. Predicted a win as my #11 confidence pick. UNI wins, so I earn 11 Confidence Points. +11.
• Cal Poly. Predicted a win as my #10 confidence pick. UNI wins, so I earn 10 Confidence Points. +21.
• Southern Utah. Predicted a win as my #9. UNI wins, so I earn 9 Confidence Points. +30.
• Southern Illinois. Predicted a win as my #8. UNI wins, so I win 8 Confidence Points. +38.
• Western Illinois. Predicted a win as my #7. UNI wins, so I lose 7 Confidence Points. +45.

Yeah Cal Poly was hot garbage yesterday. If we don't beat them by at least 2 TDs our team better have 4+ turnovers but still win. Nothing about that team looked scary.
