Next year we will be. Question since the only away game that isn't on the schedule yet is SDSU wouldn't that be in November? Though I would suppose they could back-to-back away games.
Oh, and let me make this perfectly clear to you people: you go to UNI, NOT IOWA. The Hawkeyes and their fans do not give a crap if you remain "true to them" or some stupid self-fulfulling bullcrap like that.-OTP

Remember spending $120k to get to West Bum****, Utah is somehow more financially responsible than spending $125k on a buy game where you actually have a chance to make money.

Man I still can’t believe it had to be spelled out that doing that doesn’t really make financial sense and people still didn’t believe it.

          Oh well I guess.

How do y'all get your info on who is willing to be bought for a game at UNI (in East Bum****, Iowa), and how much they require to be paid?
            Or is it pure speculation?

              its pretty simple deduction skills.

Take a look at the programs willing to be bought - and are with regularity. Look at what they get paid. Take the average and adjust for travel.

IOW - what’s other MVFC schools pay and other top tier FCS teams pay.

Turns out there are a ton of SWAC, MEAC, OVC, Big South, PFL and NEC teams willing to be bought at prices that really aren’t nuts for a program like UNI to pay.

Buying home games - even if slightly more expensive than flying to Bum**** Idaho (and Cedar Falls is no where near bum**** compared to much of the FCS, good try though) - gives such a boost to ticket sales, donations, marketing possibility, chances to grow fan bases, etc.

Why do you think broke ass SIU is buying home games rather than H/H? NDSU? ISUr? its literally the same principle as the P5 buying games in the FBS. We are in the SEC/B10 of the FCS. We can act like it, or we can act like a G5 equivalent. For the last decade our scheduling has been one of someone that has no gumption to move forward and not one of someone that want to showcase to their fan base their product and put the team in the best possible situation.

so something similar to how UNI scheduled in 2009 (lost at Iowa when a go-ahead FG attempt in the last minutes was blocked not once, but twice), then home games against Saint Francis and a then-D2 South Dakota, finishing the year at 7-4 and not making the playoffs), or pretty much how Youngstown State typically schedules their OOC games.

                  UPDATED--

I feel pretty confident in the dates as far as home/road for next year. Opponents could move around a bit.

At least it's 6 home dates..unfortunately it takes the scheduling anomaly of a 12 game season to make that happen.

That is, actually, not a bad schedule considering.

The road games are impossibly difficult, but we have 6 home games and they are all very winnable. Just stealing 2 road games and taking care of business at home would put us at 8 wins.

I was thinking the same thing. Plus two home games early in the season in September during prime tailgate weather.
"...the Northern Iowa men's basketball team reached the ultimate highs before hitting a devastating low. Unexpected success, followed by unimaginable failure. And they owned it -- all of it -- for the world to see. Like men. Like leaders. Like champions -- in a way no tournament bracket could ever define."

I'm not sure the road games are the gauntlet they're being chalked up to be. No cupcakes but break it down....

Weber is good but a Big Sky team/D that can be beat (see last Saturday).

Illinois State was down last year and loses their Sr QB.

SDSU will be without Christian and we've beat them last 2 regular season games.

NDSU will be without Klieman, Stick, Minard, Sheppard, Bruce Anderson and Lance Dunn.

That sschedule would have been a lot tougher in 2018 than in 2019.
Winning is more fun than losing.
