It's the nature of the game but agreed, seeing coach McCann leave is unfortunate.

Anyone know when Spring practice gets underway?

      Well. That's a bummer.
"...the Northern Iowa men's basketball team reached the ultimate highs before hitting a devastating low. Unexpected success, followed by unimaginable failure. And they owned it -- all of it -- for the world to see. Like men. Like leaders. Like champions -- in a way no tournament bracket could ever define."

He did leave one hell of a recruiting class. Also, EWU is just flat a better program right now. Can't blame the guy at all.

MF said in the club room before Weds. game that practice would start after spring(?) break. He also said we have 19 scholarship players coming in. The other dozen are walk-ons.
Josh Mahoney, Ellie Blankenship, Adam Koch, Jacqui Kalen, David Johnson, Madison Weekly = Golden Panthers on and off the court.

Turnover amongst the coaching staff is just part of the equation now...especially among good FCS programs.

Interesting that both EWU and NDSU...who played in the title game last year...have each had significant change in the staffs during the off season.
Winning is more fun than losing.

Coaching changes at NDSU? Huh ... hadn't heard.
              "Well, that escalated quickly."

It is the nature of the game, and no kid should choose a school primarily because of a coach, but I can't help but feel a little bad for Logan Wolf, who appeared to make it pretty clear that McCann was a significant reason for sticking with UNI. UNI is still a great fit for him, however.

looks as though quentin griffin has left us as well this off season. do we know how many of these openings we're looking to fill? will the just add WR's to danielson's duties with the TE's?

Christian Ellsworth is now listed as a Student Assistant for Offense.

I mean, that's kind of what he was anyway. Kid actually does a really nice job doing color for women's basketball on ESPN3/+. He's got big things ahead, however, none of them involve being on a football field. Good for him!

Now that Hoops season is officially over - a few questions:

How many of our recruits came in at semester? Just the QB prospect or are there others?

Any word on any players transferring out or in? Sullivan left at semester...but any others?

Any updates on coaching hires/staff updates?

At first we thought Howell was returning, but he isn't.

Micah Mayberry, a JUCO transfer DB also came in January

The only recent news on coaches is that Pat McCann left. No word on a replacement.
