  • Game 10 Indiana State at #5 UNI

Home game and we're ranked 5th! Should be a Panther win as long as we don't lose focus. Plus it's military appreciation day (Go Navy!)

    Us by a million.

Get some guys some snaps. Logan Wolf, Kendall Robinson, Sam Gary, Skyler Meyers, Jared Penning, Tristan Roper, Maverick Gatrost. Get Keller some game reps just in case.

Biggest key is not getting anybody hurt for Brookings.

Vegas seems to think so as well, last I looked we were -21.

Trees have had a weird year. Game 1 they led Kansas until the final 3 minutes. Game 2 they lost to a Pioneer League team. Handled a decent FCS team in Eastern Kentucky, then struggled to beat one of the worst teams in FCS in Eastern Illinois. Their last 3 games have been against SDSU, Illinois State and SIU. Probably not as bad as their record indicates. This is a textbook trap game.

That said...if we are as good as we think we are, we should win going away.

Correct. Blew an ACL in September. Pretty much killed any chance they had. Their quarterback play has been so bad that they're running about 40% wildcat right now.

So...you mean like when UNI played at ISU a couple years ago and Howell got the start and by the second quarter Weymiller was taking every snap?

That was ISU? Some reason I thought it was Missouri State. Didn't we yank his RS just to go wildcat?

This is the very definition of a trap game. Huge road win against Illinois State and SDSU looming next weekend. Going to have to keep it clean and leave no doubt. Keep forcing turnovers like we've been and play smart and it should be a comfortable win. However, we typically win this kind of game by 1 score.

Missouri State was the week before - Dunne went out on the first drive with a concussion. Howell came in and finished the game 12-20 for like 110 yards and 2 scores.

Started at ISU the next week and played QB for about 60% of the snaps in the first half. The other 40% were WC and I think we went like 85-90% wildcat in the second half Weymiller had 29 carries, Browning had 11, Jegen and Allen both had a carry. Even Jared Farley had a carry

Losing the redshirt was '16. UNI was 3-5 going into the ISU game. Bailey and Dunne were out, so Howell got the start in the only game in which he would appear that season. Dunne was back the next week.
                      "Well, that escalated quickly."

Thanks ronfitch and clenz for refreshing and correcting my memory. I think because of how the seasons have gone in recent years they start to blend together in my mind. Start off with roughly a 50/50 record, hit our stride and win 1 home playoff game. Rinse. Repeat.

HOPEFULLY, this season will be different. It would be amazing to have multiple playoff games at home. The Dome could be huge come playoff time. Even with the down attendance numbers, the UNI-Dome still gets pretty darn loud.

I'm fine with one home game as long as its not Thanksgiving weekend. Though, win out and we'll get two.
