Interesting! wonder what they are paying them?

        Proved to be accurate.

That 3OT battle in 2019 might have convinced the boys in Ames to look elsewhere.

I'd love to see us get a shot at an FBS team cuz we're stacked this year.

          • I would guess the real chance of getting beat by UNI without the ability to at least get a sellout from local UNI fans lead them to another option. An opponent that went 5-7 last year, including a victory over a 4-8 FCS Fordham.

If true that really explains it..... Significantly less than they paid us last year.

Right, but there was fans at the game last year. With no gate, the contracts are going to be drastically different.

I guarantee UNI would have accepted a game this year for $300k.

I agree UNI would have accepted that. but $300k to $350k isn't that much different..... Before COVID wasn't any FBS buy game about double an FCS? I didn't think and FBS buy would go that low. crazy times.

                  • I believe UNI still has some other options on the table outside of Iowa State.
"...the Northern Iowa men's basketball team reached the ultimate highs before hitting a devastating low. Unexpected success, followed by unimaginable failure. And they owned it -- all of it -- for the world to see. Like men. Like leaders. Like champions -- in a way no tournament bracket could ever define."

                    • Huge fan of Ball State now with that snub happening. Go red chickens! Beat those other red chickens.
If computers ruled college basketball the way they do football, we'd have skipped all this March Madness monotony and just waited a month for the Kansas-Kentucky title game. And watched Northern Iowa play Cornell in the Poulan Weedeater Bowl. ~ Dwight Perry The Seattle Times

Not a surprise. Figured that would happen.
