Will is not a D1 QB, not even close,, how can he be our starter..... 15 rushes?? ,, and that 3rd down on last series illustrates it all, took off running before he even finished his drop, guys running their routes open. These receivers have got to be frustrated,, running routes only to have their QB taking off like backyard ball.... not accurate short, and definitely zero deep threat,, it’s obvious the secondary knew there was no threat of 15 yard or longer passes.. Can anyone please explain why Farley didn’t let Fomby play for the future??!!!!! 53%completion last year and 51% this season....

What is our offense's identity?
This is an honest question, and I think it has been our question since Pat Grace graduated. After Pat Grace Zach Davis was seen as the next QB for UNI, and would have been a similar QB to Sanders, Grace, etc. decent runner, that can be the throws necessary for the offense to successful and could be counted on to make 2 or 3 "great" plays a game to bring energy the team. Instead in 2010 Farley went with Tirrell Rennie a great athlete and an elite runner, but couldn't make simple throws that a Division 1 quarterback should make. Our offense seemed to morph from a pro-style offense to an offense that relied on the QB to be a runner. So when we had QBs like Eli Dunne or Sawyer Kollmorgen who I think could have been very successful passers we didn't highlight their skills. It seems to get worse every year, our run scheme is a mess, we can't pass block, we have talent at WR and have for years that isn't used. It is very frustrating that in many games our defense is so damn good, but the offense is pathetic. We need an identity on offense, something that truly puts us in the best position to win and effectively uses the talent that we have. I honestly don't care if it is a pro style power running scheme, an air raid type scheme, or the triple option, but the mixed up thrown together system that we try run isn't working and it hasn't for over a decade.

like tying an anchor to the leg of the defense and telling them to tread water. Special teams could qualify as another anchor at times such as today's game, giving up the kick return and the poor punt and letting NDSU down their first punt at the 2

I think extending Farley could drive UNI football to DII. Nobody will come to watch that crap.

We're a no huddle team that doesn't play with tempo.
We're a power running team that refuses to line up in power formations or use power blocking schemes.
We're a read option team that doesn't allow the quarterback to read the end and make a decision.
We're a speed team because we play inside but we don't throw the ball deep with any consistency.
We're a pistol team that doesn't use any pistol principles.
We're a West Coast offense that usually only puts 3 guys into the pattern.
We're a screen team that can't block on the edge.
Perfectly clear identity built on consistency.#MACtion

I was really excited for some random spring football this year. Usually February and March are very boring outside of college basketball for me, so I was pretty jacked. But man, this UNI offense sapped all of that pretty quick. I know they lost Mahaffey right before that first game, but there seems to be a pretty general consensus that Farley runs this ship. The offensive gameplan and philosophy lack any sort of creativity or general success. It is an absolute bummer to watch. The defense holds teams close as long as they can, but they run out of gas after constant 3 and outs.

Two moments that basically sum up UNI football for the last 13 years...
1. Punt on 4th and less than 1 from the opponent’s 45 nearing halftime despite having nothing to lose AND every piece of data ever collected saying it’s a losing strategy. (And of course giving up 3 points anyway...and the coach still defends the strategy postgame.)
2. Calling a timeout after the touchdown to pull within 17-12 in the 4th even though everyone in the world knows you’re going for 2 and you should have the play ready. (And then out of the timeout throwing a 1.5 yard out that even if caught may not get in.)
It’s laughable.
