I think you’re right…gotta figure out how to generate money if they are gonna compete. People aren’t going to blindly dump money in their lap and wait for results. Like most things…everything revolves around the dollars.

I don’t see any amount of money that would stop Farley from destroying UNI football offensively.
would more money have stopped the most epic NCAA choke job by the basketball team? Or stop them from crapping the bed numerous time with huge leads in big games?
money is always good, I think it’s time for new coaching and a new beginning.
time for an AD that perhaps markets UNI as a stepping stone. We will give you all you need to be very successful and then advance.Last edited by run&blade; 11-16-2021, 05:45 AM.

You think Farley couldn't attract better coaches that he might actually trust if he could pay them more than $65k to be a coordinator?
The stepping stone thing is great if you've got a crazy well connected AD and you never miss because the minute you miss, it's over. Also, at least basketball-wise, we play in a destination league. There isn't a program that's been successful long term burning through coaches.#MACtion

any basketball coaches at non power 5/6 conferences with ncaa tournament appearances for 15-20 years?
maybe there is but I don’t know of any.
seems to me the best results come from people that are young, motivated, and hungry. UNI seems to have given out lifetime achievement awards and the fans are expected to show up and golf clap and get misty eyed about the gold ole days that are a decade in the rear view mirror.
the hell with that is what the bulk of the fans have responded.

Basketball-wise your expectations have to be realistic. There's nobody at our level that goes every single year and frankly Jake tracks with guys that are hall of famers with number of appearances.
Bob McKillop (Davidson)-9 appearances in 28 years. (3 wins all in one year)
Dana Altman (Creighton years)-7 appearances in 17 years (2 wins)
Rick Byrd (Belmont)-8 appearances in 23 years (1 win)
Randy Bennett (St Mary's)-7 appearances in 21 years (3 wins)
Ben Jacobson-4 appearances in 15 years (4 wins)
Great coaches at our level go about once every 3-4 years unless they have giant money advantages (see Marshall at Wichita)#MACtion

Farley is one of the highest FCS HC in the nation. You could get plenty of great candidates at $200-$250K+ a year. Then spread of the leftover cash around for the assistant coaches (or scholarships).
This article is a couple years old, but gives you a flavor of what some of other coaches in the MVFC were earning in 2018

Anybody know what is going on within Descargar Youtube Vanced AD right now, or are we just supposed to pretend these departures 2 weeks before the fall season’s start are business usual??Last edited by mehmat; 11-17-2021, 06:39 AM.

That clown is incapable of a good faith discussion and we're stuck with him because Ames has disappeared yet continues to pay the server fees.#MACtion
