Those rules/laws were the dumbest thing ever (well, that is hyperbole. There are plenty of other laws out there that are just as dumb and have more impact than just where people were allowed to willingly throw their money away).

Gambling is made any less immoral/wrong just because it takes place above water.
It was all just hokum by those few casino companies and their bought-and-paid-for pet politicians to ensure that they wouldn't face competition.

    • I can't seem to find it online, but if someone can help me find Mason City's endowment, I would greatly appreciate it.

I'd imagine it's not too large considering of their 930 students in the 21/22 school year 360 (38.7%) of them were free/reduced lunch eligible.

          • I received a ThankYou Video today. In it President Nook claims we have raised over $200 million of the $250 million "Our Tomorrow" goal. Is that right or am I missing something?

            • That’s accurate. They passed the $200M a couple weeks ago.

Those that think the Done won’t get done simply don’t get it. The campaign is rolling along. They will accomplish the $250M goal one way or another, including the Dome. Not because of the AD but in spite of him.

Granted, this phase of the campaign is a slow mover… they are after the $250 and $500 donors and less so the $5M type.

If they are 80% to their goal, does that mean $40 million of the $50 million Dome project is done? Or is the Dome project lagging behind of the rest of the campaign?

                • From what I can tell, athletics was on the tail end of the focuses. The GB and Campanile were promoted earlier. So, there is plenty of funding to find to get all the athletics projects done. Last I head, they were in the $15-20M range for the dome. Lots of work to go.

I am not fully in the loop on the progress of the campaign, just watching for updates as they come out and staying in contact with those I know in the know.

Where does that leave wrestling and basketball practice facilities?

                      I'd guess literally non-existent.

                      • Nathaniel Smith has been promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Revenue Generation. I want to preface my statement by saying he's done an excellent job with PSC, and his resume even at the NAIA level makes me very encouraged about where things could go. I just find it humorous given the lack of revenue generation that has occurred over the past several years that NOW this is a position that gets filled.

Nate has done a good job so far. He is far more outgoing, energetic , and visible than our current AD.

Is he next in line when we can finally get out from under Harris?
