Oh, and let me make this perfectly clear to you people: you go to UNI, NOT IOWA. The Hawkeyes and their fans do not give a crap if you remain "true to them" or some stupid self-fulfulling bullcrap like that.-OTP
What i say are my opinions and mine alone, and not that of anyone associated with me.

He also thought catching UNI with a short week would be a chance because UNI had Hampton the Saturday before. That didn't work because that Hampton game was a route so the starters for UNI played about a quarter and a half. UNI flew in about 3 hours before kick off that Thursday night, beat them 33-0 with putting in almost zero actual game plan. Held ISU to less than 300 yards of offense, and had nearly as many rushing yards as ISU had total offense.
Until it's announced the game is a Thursday night, which won't happen as UNI has YSU the week before and ISUb is at MUSU and they won't make both teams play a short week turnaround game, it's 99.9999% a 1 eastern kick
I went and looked - non-noon kicks at ISUb since 2016
2022 - North Alabama - Thursday night - season opener
2021 - Eastern Illinois - 5 pm - season opener
2018 - Quincy - Thursday night -season opener
2018 - UNI - Thursday Night - Valley opener and ISUb had their open week the Saturday before
2017 - Eastern Illinois - Thursday night - season opener
Prior to that there was a smattering of 3 eastern kicks for ISUb home games, but it's pretty clear when they are kicking off.
Same thing with NDSU and 2:30 kicks.
Same thing with UNI and 4:00 kicks - until David Harris showed up and now we have 2 1:00 kicks a year it seems.
That's kind of the thing with the Valley, more so than any other FCS conference. Each schools has always seemed to have "their" kick off time for home games.
SDSU kicks OOC games at 6:00 and Valley games at 2:00
ISUr kicks OOC games at 6:30 and Valley games at 12:00 with occasional 2:00 kicks for homecoming or other special event games
SIU kicks OOC games at 6/6:30 and Valley games at 2:00 with rare games at another early afternoon kick pending events around the game.
MOSU almost every single Valley game at 2:00 with a few rare exceptions. OOC games early in the year tend to be a 6/7:00 kick. Late season OOC games stick with 2:00
USD kicks 95+% of their games at 1:00
WIU usually does a seasonal split - games before week 7 are almost always 3:00 and after are almost always 1:00 with a few exceptions
YSU is 75+% 1:00 with a few 11:00 or 5:00 sprinkled in
UND is the only one that really doesn't seem to have a consistent time that makes up 80%+ of their kicks. They range all over the afternoon.

ISUb's AD has also been quite open that he wants to try to fit as many Thursday night games as he can to try to get any eye balls on the games, especially season openers, because he realizes no one is going to watch ISUb on Saturday competing with everyone else. He also convinced the Valley to move the UNI game from Saturday to Thursday, because it was initially scheduled for a 1:00 kick that Saturday, because they had an open week before that UNI game and he sold it as the idea of a "Valley opener with no competition on a Thursday night".

A rack of ribs, pie for dessert and a freshly greased undercarriage later, the Panthers boarded and taxied back to Wabash Ave. to wait for a clearing in traffic to take off.
A similar thing happened with Missouri State in 2013, but that was due to mechanical issues and having to emergency stop overnight in KC on the way down then having weather keep them in KC....or weather forced the landing then mechanical issues kept them from taking off again. IIRC the plane landed about 70 minutes before kick-off and the team rolled in less than an hour before the kick, won the game, and got right back on the plane.

The Idaho State game will kick at 5:00 Iowa time and be broadcast on ESPN+.
They've traditionally kicked at 1:00 local time but their AD absolutely nails why moving later in the day is better.
From the release:
Upon announcing the change, Director of Athletics Pauline Thiros said, "We are constantly trying to improve the gameday environment, and create a situation in which Bengal Football can be a part of the weekend for families. The later kick time means people can be at youth events, out on the lake, or patronizing local businesses all day, and still make the game at night. Further, fans have expressed a desire to have more time to enjoy the tailgating environment, which we will make more robust due to the time change as well. This is something our community has been requesting very vocally over recent years, so we very much want to accommodate. My hope is that it results in great attendance and a tremendous home-field advantage!"#MACtion

Well holy poop...
Our game at Indiana State is a 7:00 EDT/6:00 CDT kick.
Their website goes back 18 years and this is the first non-1:00 Saturday kick in that time span. Wow.
Illinois State is a noon kick at their place.
The original post won't let me update it at the moment but I will as soon as it lets me.#MACtion
