Looks like crap home schedule. No back to back home games? Sure hope day and reeder stay and get an improved defense. I hate wishing time away but I do wish it was sept 2 of 2023. Like to see what things will look like if we don’t have an unusual off-season.

For fun, here's everybody else's non-conference schedules next year--

          SDSU--
          Montana State
          Drake
1 TBD (will not be FBS)

          NDSU--
          Eastern Washington
          Maine
          Central Arkansas

          Missouri State--
          at Kansas
          at UT Martin
          Utah Tech

          North Dakota--
          Drake
          Northern Arizona
          at Boise State

          South Dakota--
          at Missouri
          St Thomas
          Lamar

          Illinois State--
          Dayton
          at Eastern Illinois
          Lindenwood

          Youngstown State--
          Valpo
          at Ohio State
          Robert Morris

          Southern Illinois--
          Austin Peay
          at Northern Illinois
          at SEMO

          Indiana State--
          Eastern Illinois
          at Indiana
          at Ball State

          Western Illinois--
          at New Mexico State
          Lindenwood
          at Southern Utah

          Murray State--
          Presbyterian
          at Louisville
          at Middle Tennessee

Now tell me we're serious about competing. Our schedule is a hell of a lot more Western Illinois than it is upper part of the league.

SIU and ISUR have permanent H/H rivarlies with SEMO and EIU so don't look at them playing on the road as some sort of "see they do it too" deal.

Funny how Drake will travel to UND but not play the Panthers...
Give us a yell, HO! The purple and the gold
              Victory for U-N-I!

Find out what the other team wants to do, then take it away from them.

Drake has played the Dakota 4 about 15 times in the last 10 years.

They signed a 2-1 with SDSU and then gave the 1 to SDSU for the cost of covering the bus to Brookings from Des Moines and a night in a hotel.

edit - went and pulled the games from my schedule comp sheet

Once again, this is not some huge conspiracy, they have very good reason not to schedule us. This is not Iowa/ISU ducking us in basketball, Drake truly does get nothing out of scheduling us. It sucks for us, but it makes perfect sense for them.

That reason is to avoid red circling for the state of Iowa the 40 point difference between UNI football and Drake football.

They are not obligated. But that's the reason.

Yeah, exactly. That's a valid reason, in my opinion. If the script were flipped, and Drake had the scholarship football program and we didn't, yet we were still conference rivals in all the non-football sports, would you want go down to Des Moines to get throttled? I wouldn't. Frankly I'm surprised they agreed to play us in 2013 and 2006.

How much money is Drake getting from the Dakota schools, especially SDSU and USD since it appears Drake really likes to get their beat down from them?

Not nearly what David sells as the reason for not playing buy games.

Same with any of their other buy games.

Not one, but TWO 1:00 kicks this fall.

Didn't want families with kids there anyway...
