So we could play 13 games because of Hawaii, we should be playing 12 games because of the calendar giving us another week, and we are choosing to play 11 games, with 7 on the road. I understand taking pay games to fund the athletic department, but if you are left with absolutely no fans, what do we have to fund?

The thing is that the Hawaii game is only $180k plus travel. It doesn't even pay a bill.

So we're playing two buy games and not using one of them to offset buying our own home game? Wow. Got it. That is horrific. David, may the door hit you hard on the way out.

I mean seriously? Not even Upper Iowa or some other semi-local D-2 team we could get for cheap?

Home football games drive alumni engagement and future revenue. Why are we renovating the UNI-Dome for four home games?

We're not renovating the UNI Dome. We're painting it and fixing the bathrooms/expanding one concourse. A real renovation can't be done for $40M.

We're getting it up to what would have been acceptable 20 years ago.

Putting on my tin-foil hat for a moment. The schedule was tweeted out from the football twitter handle, not UNI athletics. They haven't even retweeted it. Is this Mark trying to generate the reaction we all feel in order to put pressure on the athletic department to fix this? If so, it's a sign of just how disconnected the department has become under Harris.

Either way, we should keep the pressure up to fix this.

Barf. What an awful schedule. Thank you, David Harris, for helping drive this program into the ground.

I wonder if the roof getting redone this summer has something to do with no early home games....hopefully they can add another home game.

Maybe instead of fifth football home game Chris Martin can give a lecture on Ethics in Communication in the Dome.

16 people might show up, and 15 of them would be expecting Coldplay.

UNI Football has posted on Facebook that a fifth home game (and 12th for the season) "is in the works and will be announced at a later date."

And UNI continues to not recognize how to deliver a message. Why roll out this schedule in the middle of sharing all the great recruits being brought in and then only after getting a bunch of negative responses including from the press, put out a statement that says oh yeah we can probably do better. We'll tell you about this later. Geesh.
If computers ruled college basketball the way they do football, we'd have skipped all this March Madness monotony and just waited a month for the Kansas-Kentucky title game. And watched Northern Iowa play Cornell in the Poulan Weedeater Bowl. ~ Dwight Perry The Seattle Times

We may as well order new jerseys with "visitors" on the front. That's what we'll be known as.

                          • This is not a schedule that would be produced by a serious football program.

We saw Missouri State rise and fall. UNI remained.

We saw Western Illinois rise and fall. UNI remained.

We saw Southern Illinois rise and fall. UNI remained.

Maybe the neglect means it's finally our turn.

This kind of feels like a tipping point for the department as a whole. Either we get an aggressive fundraiser of an AD in here that can get budget dollars moving in the same direction as our peers or we get another BOR lackey that continues the status quo as we fall further and further behind to the point where we aren't a viable Valley Athletic Department anymore.

I'd be heartbroken if all the work that Bowlsby and Eldon and Stan Sherriff and TA and Hartzell and Farley and Iradge and Bobbi did gets lost due to some out of touch, faceless board seeking to make UNI nothing more than a satellite campus.

Who are the press sources who have expressed negative responses about our schedule? I'd like to read what they have to say. Looking forward to your response. Thanks.
