LOL this schedule. Gosh it would be nice to have a competent AD. Or an AD who even cared maybe

This schedule might actually cause Farley to retire. Good job David!

(Sarcasm but I assume that was clear, never know here though)

What does an AD have to do with a schedule? I must be missing something.

ADs do 100% of the scheduling in college football.

Caught Nebraska a year too late.

If we got them in Rhule's first year...with Theo throwing dimes...I would've felt like the upset was in play.

Didn't we get ISU is Campbell's first year?
Winning is more fun than losing.

Really? I did not know that. Thanks.

All the complaints about scheduling, the AD, the coaches, tailgating, Dome dirtiness, etc. etc. etc. have all been listed. These complaints should be taken through the proper channels in hopes of improvement. But, PLEASE, don't say the answer is to NOT renew season tickets or NOT attend games, because then you are "punishing" the student-athletes unfairly. They are doing their utmost best to play exciting fan-friendly games. They deserve our support and should be separated from the issues some people are constantly complaining about. IMHO.

While I agree with the sentiment, we all know the truth is the way to impact change and show to those in charge (David and those above David) is to do something that indicates a "seriousness" to the voicing of displeasure.

At this point, another e-mail to David, or anyone else, isn't going to show anything. They all know. They have known. They will continue to know. Another e-mail telling them "I'm unhappy about X, Y, and Z" is meaningless.

The way to prove a point in these environments; both are financial. You either:

                    1. Have so much money that you pay for everything to happen the way you want - see how the biggest of schools do it

                    or

                    2. Take your money away (be it donations, tickets purchased, no longer showing up to games, etc.). to a level that makes it impossible to ignore the problems.

UNI doesn't have one and unfortunately doesn't have a large enough fan base to make number two work. We are in a catch-22 of **** when it comes to having an administration (or coach should it come up) that isn't doing well enough to justify continuing in their position.

One of the worst things Hartzell, and Dannen, ever did was get the fan base to embrace "WE DO MORE WITH LESS. LOOK HOW GREAT WE ARE AT DOING MORE WITH LESS!!!!" like it is some sort of point of pride.

It gave them a pass for failing at fundraising, failing to fund programs, giving them excuses to cut programs, underpaying coaches, etc. As a fanbase, we were brainwashed into going "Jake and Farley aren't given actual money to do anything with but they somehow manage to win, which means we don't need that money to compete and do anything".

Then David was hired, and he took that sentiment and added NOS to the "with less" part. As a fan base, it took us years to question what is happening. A small group of us noticed it pretty quickly and were starting to under Dannen, but we were the minority and cast as just spoiled whiney brats. Now the larger base is starting to catch on, but it's a bit like Titanic and iceberg with these things. We, fans and admin, have blindly been full steam ahead ignoring everything around us with the limited funding and accepting it for so long that we are hitting critical mass when it comes to being able to turn the ship to avoid the iceberg that will permanently sink us behind peers. Right now, the captain is refusing to admit problems in the course. Refusing to acknowledge that every other ship changed course years ago and is pulling away from us and into safer waters for survival.

You are right, the student-athletes (David just got aroused over someone using that term) don't deserve to be "abandoned" by fans. The coaches busting their asses don't deserve it.

They also don't deserve to be treated like they have been regarding funding, support, scheduling, etc. by their own damn administration as they have been.

The players on this football program don't deserve to only get 4 home games a year, which is required by Valley scheduling. They don't deserve to have their bodies beaten to **** for an extra $500k because David can't fundraise, so he just pimps the program out to the first bidder. They don't deserve to have their bodies beaten to **** and then have an out-of-conference schedule where they are traveling over 10000 miles in 21 days for that extra 500k. They don't deserve to be put on the wrong side of the bubble for the playoffs before the season started because David refuses to play home OOC games like every other Valley program, like every other "real" FCS program.

Fans should always come to games when possible and voice displeasure in some other way.

Also, I think this 2024 schedule could definitely be seen as an equity issue for UNI. Putting the burden of budget shortfalls on the backs of the most diverse roster we have of any of the sports we offer is a problem. It's clearly a money grab that deviates from our normal routine in a way that negatively impacts student-athletes.

                        Welp. Blow this schedule up.

Western is off to the OVC for 2024.

Good move for them. They are not a Valley level program anymore realistically.

We’ve already added Murray as another cellar dweller anyway. Essentially business as usual for everyone else.

Traveled through Murray, KY recently and got a good look at the football stadium. It's right off the main highway through town.

                                It's...ummm....nice.
