DI school in the WAC. The name change from Dixie State to Utah Tech takes effect July 1st this year.
    "Well, that escalated quickly."

Why does a program like ours feel the need to sign a home and home agreement with a school that just transitioned to FCS in 2020?

Based on how we've been scheduling, I'm just glad we're playing Utah Tech and not Utah.

Somehow we've decided that spending a fortune to get to out of the way places is better than just paying programs like that a guarantee. Not quite as a egregious as playing at St Thomas but real close when you consider how damn hard it is to get to St George, Utah.

***** all you want about living in Iowa but every team we play flies into an airport that's 10 minutes from the hotel and not 3 hours like a lot of the places we seem to take games at.

It's not hard to get to St. George. UNI chartered into their Cedar Rapids-sized airport a few years ago when playing at Southern Utah, farther north in Cedar City. It's also an easy commercial flight for fans going from DSM or CR to Phoenix and into St. George. We made that trip, seeing five national parks in Utah, before and after the football game at Southern Utah. Yes, our hotel wasn't 10 minutes from the airport. It was 15.

Don't let facts get in the way of a good internet rant.
If computers ruled college basketball the way they do football, we'd have skipped all this March Madness monotony and just waited a month for the Kansas-Kentucky title game. And watched Northern Iowa play Cornell in the Poulan Weedeater Bowl. ~ Dwight Perry The Seattle Times

Apologies. Didn't realize they'd opened a new airport in St George.

Previously had to fly into Vegas and drive over with a plane that size when we played the T-Birds in the 00s.

Vegas would be much closer, no? I made that trip this spring and LV to St. George was maybe 2 hrs, straight-shot on I-15

Vegas is definitely much closer. It is a very easy drive. Make it a Vegas long weekend and also check out Zion National Park, very close to St. George.
