**Week 2--@ St Thomas**

Don't have much intel on St Thomas, they were picked 2nd in the Pioneer League preseason poll, of which Valpo was picked 10th.

However, they got blasted 34-14 by DII Sioux Falls in last weekend at home. Attendance was listed as 3k for this game, so could be one of those sneaky tough sleepy early day road games.

Sioux Falls outrushed them 204 yards to 22 yards for St Thomas, so I would assume that will be our primary game plan again much like the Valpo game. We beat St Thomas 44-3 in the Dome in 2021.

Anyone in the Twin Cities planning on being there? Or making the drive up? It is supposed to be sunny and 60s.

Heading up for my first out of state road game in a while. Looking forward to a 2-0 start. Nice change of pace and hopefully we can make this the norm instead of the exception going forward.

Should be a tougher test than Valpo, especially on the road where the Tommies don't lose often.

Still, should be one we win with ease if we expect to be any good at all.

I see the alumni association is doing a pregame event at Tiffany’s. That’s a 45 min walk to the stadium. Unless there’s a shuttle I’m not seeing, we aren’t that interested in going there where parking sucks, just to get back in the car and find another spot near the stadium. Bummer.

Facebook being Facebook, I never saw anything posted there on the various UNI alum groups (including one for Twin Cities alum) because the the mindtrust at Facebook thinks it is more important that I see 80 ads in my timeline than groups I actually follow.

It appears tailgating is virtually not existent. One lot lists being open for 2 hours pregame up to 30 mins after kickoff but no alcohol allowed.

This is interesting to me because my experience with St Thomas comes from two Tommie/Johnnie games over the years and the party scene was huge. But that’s an entirely different animal I suppose.

For anyone going who isn't familiar with UST's campus

It's literally in the middle of a residential neighborhood in St Paul. There is no tailgating because there is nowhere for it. Wartburg's campus is roughly the same size, possibly slightly larger, with significantly more space in/around it.

Think the old Cedar Falls high school, but make it a college campus, and Division Street doesn't have the parking in the middle of it anymore. Do that and you have UST's campus.

You act like that was a question that David even would have considered when he signed the contract. Who gives a **** if the fans can watch it easily as long as he didn't have to work an extra Saturday...

And right down the street from Cecil's, with the best Reuben sandwiches in the Twin Cities. Don't go between 4:30 and 5:15 as it is packed with seniors (seriously, it's like a movie cliche).

Absolutely pathetic. Literally don’t remember the last time we did not have a stream for a game. Had to be 15 years ago.
