F that to the highest degrees possible.

I agree with most of you, I think we've at least earned the ability to demand a 2-for-1, at the very least.

Anything short of a 2 for 1 or a guarantee twice the normal rate is a non-starter in my opinion. If they want to pay us $200K to come in... maybe, but they won't do that.

Other possible 2 for 1's to pursue would be Marquette or Memphis.

If DJ Carton from Bettendorf goes somewhere out of state, offer them a neutral game at the Mark (or whatever it's called now) in the Quad Cities.

Unless Jake has changed his mind, he has repeatedly publicly stated over the last few years that he is opposed to any 2 for 1 with ISU or Iowa because he believes we have proven ourselves as more than a worthy opponent so that arrangement would be unacceptable.

Why on Earth would we think we could command a double normal guarantee fee?

            ??????

Sure, a home and home would be great. It isn't going to happen. Being a realist, playing ISU in Hilton is a win all the way around.
This exactly. Same with a game at Iowa.

Guessing we won't be playing in Carver while Fran's there, he wants nothing to do with us. Next question: how long will Fran still be there

A while.... How long he should be there is a better question.

Also lost in the shuffle is that Iowa State should probably worry about their own team instead of insisting on only home games with us. Another down year and Prohm's seat will be scalding hot.

Yeah, the contract extension gives Fran a couple more seasons even if they are as bad as the last one was. But Iowa will eventually eat salary to make an undesirable go away, just ask Todd L.

The most poetic thing that could happen next in this situation is for UNI to run off a couple of NCAA tourney seasons while Iowa sits home and contemplates more "creative scheduling options".

                        Make it happen Jake.

We get a high percentage of our roster from Minnesota every year. How about some sort of arrangement with the Gophers?

Barta needs to start worrying more about the quality of his program and less about Fran's ego or he's going to end up with another **** show on his hands...although likely not as dramatic as the Lickliter debacle.

Personally I'd be fine if he sat back and watched it circle the bowl.

15 years ago we take the buy game at Iowa or Iowa State. Now we can take better buy games with more exposure.

And it can't be said enough.... A game against ISU wouldn't be on TV for the majority of Panther fans.
