I think it would be funny if JMU just never officially "announced" the move until they actually joined the new conference.

Also, this doesn't affect football."And immediately, (P'Allen Stinnett's) Facebook status was spouting vulgarities towards the university."

I hope we can arrive at 14. Who knows when? There are many schools in the Horizon, Ohio Valley, and Summit within our footprint. Many choices mentioned in other threads. I like teams with big markets and good facilities, but sometimes we have taken a hit (Evansville Valpo). I like Omaha, N. Kentucky, Morehead State, UW Milwaukee, South Dakota State, and Detroit Mercy. Some of those are too far to the North for the Southern schools to approve, but it's interesting discussion.

I'm fine staying at 12. 14 is just more mouths to feed in terms of splitting profit. I dont think 14 teams makes us any more attractive for multiple bids than 12 does.

Not exactly sure I'd consider Brookings, SD or Morehead, KY to be "big markets" unless we're comparing them to Dike.

Cincinnati isn't a big market, but a decent one. More teams makes for more recruiting we could now have a shot at kids from Kentucky, Tennessee, and the Cincinnati area. With 12 we don't get a Cincinnati kid.
Morehead's average KenPom over the last 10 years is 224 so I'm not sure how they're a 'computer numbers' add.
South Dakota State isn't going anywhere without North Dakota State and there's no people there and they're a flight for us and Drake and we're by far the closest to them.
Omaha is on the radar but they have to prove they want to be good in basketball and convince everyone they're more than a hockey school, frankly their transition from D2 has been a disaster but they have the good fortune of geography.
I don't think the Valley does anything for a while. Loyola leaving actually made 12 make more sense than 14 and, in the end, made us a better league.#MACtion

In the end we are coming out ahead.

Absolutely. On top of that, Belmont and Murray actually have pedigree and legitimate fanbases. Loyola has been good the last 5 years after 30 years of nothing. Even with their recent success, they still have no fans and play in a HS gym. I think as of 2-3 years ago they didnt even have a radio broadcast of their games.
