Thanks, Alumni was planning a luncheon before 1:00 time. I’ll give them a heads up

Someday someone at that university will learn how scheduling and TV works.

We're lucky we're not FBS, there is no way this fan base or department could handle not having game times until 12 or 6 days before.

This isn't directed at you at all '73. Just an observation.

        • Pour one out for the tradition of Mitch Holthus calling Valley games and Arch Madness. Hasn't worked for the league at all this year and Scott Warmann has taken his place at Arch Madness.

I guess it was inevitable with the Chiefs playing so late into the year the past few and, presumably, for as long as Patrick Mahomes is still upright. Still sucks though.

Game on in The Valley. America's Renaissance Conference.

Just not going to be the same....

              Bradley sucks in postseason.
Announcers always talk about the Valley's record in NCAA first round games and all the loses are BU!
Also, Mast is just not that good. We couldn't/didn’t guard him because we're so small and couldn't defend the three. But any team with a decent big man can neutralize him and then what does Bradley have left on offense?
I hope Drake has a good showing against UM because otherwise I'll feel like we're a long ways off as a conference.

We do have a ways to go. Miami probably beats Drake in a close game. If things fall better the MVC is a 2 bid League next season. Some may say that's not much improvement, but it's the best we can do, for now.

                • I mean I'll definitely take two bids. Mainly because, with the way it's shaking out, we'd have to be the at-large bid, and that would mean one hell of a season. Possibly hot take, not entirely sure, I'd rather have a season where we're good enough for an at-large (and get it, crucially, I don't want us to get screwed over by the committee) rather than a miracle Arch Madness run. The latter is fun for three days, the former is fun for a season.

Agree x1000. I miss the days of scouring the internet for every new bracket projection in January/February to see where they had us listed. Worrying how a loss might drop us to the 8/9 game, etc. (Not that the committee has ever done us any favors with seeding.)

                    • Oh. 100%. Give me all the regular season titles over 3 days in St Louis.

It seemed closer than the final. Wisconsin was only up by 5 at half. I watch some bits of the second half, and Bradley was within roughly 6 - 9 points every time I looked. A little run with some made 3s and they’re in it or leading. Sounds like they couldn’t make 3s all game, which probably killed them. I think they shot roughly 20%.

                        • Bradley played fine. The ball just wouldn't go in the bucket and bad 3 point shooter Steven Crowl couldn't miss.

They don't make the top four next season. It's Belmont, Northern Iowa, SIU, and Drake unless something unforeseen happens. Bradley is maybe, 6th. That's if Mast stays. They're screwed if he transfers to greener pastures. They won't get squat to replace him. They would get passed by Valpo. Middle bottom feeder. I'm sure Wardel would be amused. So, for now, Belmont, Northern Iowa, SIU, Drake, Murray State, Bradley, Missouri State, Indiana State, Illinois State, UIC, Valpo, and Evansville.

"How far away we are" from being an elite conference doesn't mean **** if we can get 3 or 4 teams to 25+ wins a year.

The MWC continues to get 4+ bids per year. They are something like 0-18 the last few years in the NCAA tournament.

We just need teams, including us, to not **** up in the OOC and for the bottom of the league to realize they are the bottom of the league and just ****ing fold when they play a top 5 conference team. That's what you get in the MWC and why they get so many bids.

Wait.....wait. Usually I don't dig too deep into your posts. But did you just say that Bradley is *maybe 6th* if Mast stays?

OK, I'll bite. How do you figure the defending league champs with all five starters returning and only one player who got significant minutes graduating will fall to 6th?

I don't think you could make a legit argument for them to fall to sixth even without Mast unless they lose some other guys.
