  • AJ has far exceeded my expectations of what I thought he would do first year post UNI.

Just getting in the D league or playing in a higher level overseas league is pretty accomplishing.

He did great here as a 2x Larry Bird winner in 3 season, but he just looks so comfortable and efficient when called upon to get minutes

    • But he probably should've gone to Iowa State though...

As a role player. Definitely not good enough to start and play a bunch...

Definitely not good enough to be a PG here either.

          • Got playing time in the first quarter.

            • AJ scores 12 in win over Magic. Bucks are up a half a game over the Celtics.

              • 17 minutes. 4/7 from 3, a couple of which he made his own shot. Brought the ball up as PG for quite a while.

                • Search for AJ on Twitter - there's a lot of love for him lately. The Bucks coach was asked about him yesterday and he commented that he thinks AJ is really starting to feel more comfortable and confident. Teammates trust him, he works hard, and does the little things.

It's awesome to see. Not to look too far ahead, but it'll be really interesting to see him over the next year or two. Also, somewhat AJ related, yesterday the Bucks waived the other 2-way guy they had. I don't know what this means for AJ, but regardless, I feel like he has a pretty good chance of him getting a full contract at some point.
To avoid confusion - my username is baseball (Cy Young award) related, NOT for the Cyclones.

                  • Figured AJ would get playing time tonight but not on game roster. ??

                    • Ya, strange. He didn't play for the Herd yesterday either.

                      • He could see some minutes tonight in Phoenix. Dragic, Allen, and Middleton have issues and are out, tonight. The other rookie Beauchamp could play too.

                        • What’s up? He wasn’t on the roster the last couple games.

Back to the Herd for a couple games. 20 and 25 in the couple games he played.

                            • We're getting down to the end of the season now. Do we still think AJ will get that full contract?

Nope. He'll keep the two way but the Bucks have no incentive to convert him after signing Dragic. It's sucks but that's the NBA. Hopefully next year is as successful and he gives them a really tough decision.
