I think being picked 5th is fair. There are so many unknowns with this team after losing AJ. We have an incredibly bright future with the recruiting that's been taking place though.

We just have to out perform 5th. Top 4 is the only acceptable finish at this point to avoid the extra game on Thursday.
If computers ruled college basketball the way they do football, we'd have skipped all this March Madness monotony and just waited a month for the Kansas-Kentucky title game. And watched Northern Iowa play Cornell in the Poulan Weedeater Bowl. ~ Dwight Perry The Seattle Times

5th seems about right. Goal should be to do everything possible to get into the top 4 to avoid Thursday in STL.

I expect Bowen to be one of the top players in the league, and for our team to be greatly improved defensively. I think we will struggle offensively do to lack of shooting and interior scoring.

Here's hoping Bowen can end the season first team and Noah second team.
Phyfe will either be first team or not mentioned. First team classy human.

I'm expecting Heise to show up in the 2nd team conversation. If that happens we should have a great year.

                Sorry. I meant Nate!
I expect Noah to sit on the bench and cheer for Isiaih.

AJ is the best player we've had in program history and we'll miss him tremendously. Full stop.

However, we won't have the designed possessions where he was going to go iso and get shots which will free up 15ish possessions a night where Bowen and Nate can create. It will also take the actions out that were designed specifically for him or at least reduce them and shift them to Bowen. Different dynamic but it'll be fun to see what this offense is without 'THE guy' in it.

I agree. It will be fun to see how these guys grow without the fall back crutch of sitting back and letting AJ take care of it with a late shot clock shot.

I have nothing against Noah and would be ok if he does well at Mizzou. Based on previous posts here, a good season goal, though, would be for his Father to get banned from their arena

I'm oddly not THAT worried about losing AJ himself. In 2020-2021, the team actually started playing really well without him. It took time, but the guys were playing really well towards the end of the year. I'm more worried about not having a ton of experience. AJ, Berhow, Pickford, Carter, and maybe Phyfe is a ton of missing points and minutes. That's a league championship starting 5 we're losing.

We've started out slow a few seasons in a row now. It seems this team just can't click offensively for a month or more. If that happens again we may look up at xmas and find ourselves 3-11!
There's talent on this team but a LOT of minutes to replace and I fear the non conf schedule is a little too tough.

I have us 6th without Austin. We'll see what the future holds. I think Henry and Betz are up for the challenge. Henry has decent size to rebound and pass.Betz can become a better shooter. So, a winning record about 19-14 depending how Arch Madness goes, but it is not the NIT.

What would lead anyone to believe Betz is ready for the challenge? He has seemingly slipped farther down the depth chart each season. I'd love to be wrong but he's shown absolutely nothing in his time in CF.
