We need Hut to be confident to take and make 3s to open up the offense more. Similar with Cole driving the lane.
So much more energy today than on Wed night. night we play at this pace we can beat anyone.

I think that is correct too I would assume if we win in Carbondale the tiebreaker with net works is in our favor. That's a tough get down there but we made our bed.

Nothing to do with NET. We'd have the season sweep.

It's all about consistency. That team lost night is the best team in the league.

The only way we'd lose out in this scenario is if Bradley loses out (they have at SIU and v Drake). That'd make a four way tie for the 3 seed, and since Bradley only played Belmont once, it looks like H2H is ignored and it goes straight to NET. In which case, Bradley gets the 3, SIU gets the 4, and we're in the 5.
To avoid confusion - my username is baseball (Cy Young award) related, NOT for the Cyclones.

Well that's the ultimate kick in the pants.

Evansville could do us a big, big solid this afternoon.

Well, when we have the fire & toughness shown in the last two home games, we are hard to beat. Had a +14 in rebounds!!! (11 offensive RB) Oh - shooting 55.5% for the game helps (including 50% from 3 in the second half).

Turnovers were even. We weren't hurt by our 61% free throw percentage this time. (55% in the second half - we missed 13. Luckily, they missed 9.)

Can we bring it and get two more this week?

I really wish I lived a little closer so I could go to more games. That was an absolute blast yesterday. Great ball and the place was loud. You could just feel the guys feeding off the energy of the crowd. Bowen looked more like his old self and the guys just worked.

Awesome game! Let’s keep the McLeod this full for awhile. What a difference.

Panther fans were making noise almost the entire game. What few D+ fans were there tried to make some noise but got drowned out. We looked and played tough! Let's keep it going!
I read Drake Nation for fun and noticed 2 things I find hilarious. 1. They think the refs screwed them based on ft shot discrepancy...when Drake's desperation fouls in the final 3 mins accounted for 14 UNI fts. And 2. They constantly refer to us as farmers or pig farmers... WTH they talking about? These clowns from the slums of Des Moines are making fun of UNI thinking we're hicks? UNI is abunch of rural Iowa kids studying education, business, speech path and accounting... But ok D+
I've lived in the Des Moines market and worked at 2 major corporate employers in that market for 30 years.

The idea that Drake fans are trying to make fun of UNI or anyone other school frankly is pretty absurd.

I honestly don't know why anyone voluntarily goes to Drake for their undergrad. And please don't say academics. If you're looking for top tier academics and you picked Drake, you're bad at making decisions.

As far as I've seen, there is a way to get the 3 seed right? In the plausible scenario that UNI wins out, Southern beats Bradley in Peoria, Bradley loses at Drake, and Belmont loses at Murray State. If this happens, then Belmont is the 6 at 11-9. That leaves Bradley, Southern, and UNI all at 12-8 in which case UNI is 3-1 against the tied teams while Bradley is 2-2 and Southern 1-3. Counting on Bradley to lose 2 straight to end the season is maybe too much to ask for, but I think it's possible right?

Correct. Just to clarify, Belmont needs to lose and it doesn't matter which game or both.

A 4 way tie is a bad deal because the head to head gets thrown out because Bradley and Belmont only played once. It goes directly to the NET and we end up 5th.

SIU winning in Peoria certainly isn't out of the realm of possibility with the way Bradley has played the last couple of weeks. No legs left. Had no business winning last night.

Obviously getting a top 4 seed is the goal, as no one has ever won 4 games in 4 days at the MVC tourney. But if I had to pick the team best suited to do it, I’d pick us. Coach Jake has said in interviews the goal is to get everyone at least 15 minutes a game. That may or may not happen, but the fact that we actually use our bench pays off at this time of year.

Who are the teams you guys want to avoid in the tourney? Tops on the list for me is Belmont, as they seem to be playing very well. We have shown that we can beat Drake and Bradley, and I would feel pretty good going into a matchup with the Sycamores right now as well.

The 4 games in 4 days is skewed because the tournament just went to the 12 team format where the 5 and 6 seed play day 1 who have a better chance to win it all.

The 15 minutes is skewed/bad off hand math if we're still running a 10 man rotation. It seems far more likely there are rotating players on the bench that may get 15-20 minutes depending on matchup and performance and the rest could see under 10. RJ and Wolf got 16 and 18 minutes yesterday. Duax and Pock got 6 and 5. RJ and Wolf have logged DNPs in this calendar year, while Pock and Duax have seen 20+ minute games in the same timeframe so it seems pretty variable.

I think it's not going to really matter this year. The 2nd round game is likely going to be one of Belmont, Bradley, or SIU. I would vastly prefer not having to play the top 3 seeds to win. But both SIU and Belmont are quality opponents as well. Bad year to not be a top 2 seed.

                              Belmont.

They're different with a healthy Gillespie and they have the ability to hit 15 3s if they're on.

I don't like seeing SIU on Friday 5 days after we faced them in Carbondale. It usually bites us in the backside. However, to get into the Tournament we can't be afraid of anyone.
