First off, I'm pretty sure you meant "semantics", and I'm well aware this is a message board; I have almost 2,000 posts here. You have just over a hundred. It's a legitimate question to ask why victories at a different school should somehow count towards a UNI Mt. Rushmore.
Legitimate question? Hardly... The wins at other schools is part of the body of work. So, the total wins when it's all done is the big picture of the coaching career.

No. It’s a Northern Iowa Mt Rushmore we're talking about. The accomplishments have to be at UNI.

It's a completely legitimate question and once again you are changing the goalposts.

If you want to discuss more of a national Hall of Fame/"Mt. Rushmore" as opposed to just UNI, then that's fine to talk about Eldon Miller in there.

And I'm not bagging on Miller or arguing he should have his name wiped from the records or anything like that. But, once again, his career record at UNI is 14 games under .500 overall, and 26 games under for just conference record(s). You cannot make an argument with a straight face that he should somehow be on a hypothetical Mt. Rushmore of UNI basketball ahead of either Greg McDermott or Ben Jacobson.

Let's assume Bill Self leaves Kansas for the NBA in May. Assume further that Greg McDermott, Dana Altman, and Fred Hoiberg are their final 3 choices, hypothetically. All three have more than 1 stop in division 1. No chance whats-so-ever the Jayhawks ignore ALL the jobs and only base the hiring decision on the best record? I didn't think so. How about them goalposts. You don't think Kansas would want the best guy?

THAT'S NOT THE CONVERSATION. A UNI Mt.Rushmore is impact on UNI, that's it. It's the same reason Kurt Warner doesn't belong on the UNI Mt.Rushmore, because he wasn't that good at UNI. It's not even close.

I have absolutely no idea what kind of a point you are trying to make here.

Eldon Miller not only put us on the map in the NCAA Tournament, he also beat Iowa in front of 23,000 fans in the UNIDome.

Can we change the name of this thread to "Argument over the definition of Mt. Rushmore of Panther Basketball"?

Newsflash, the world does not start at the parkade downtown and end at the city limits of Cedar Falls.

Ah well, the last I checked there is more pressure coaching at Ohio State then compared to Northern Iowa or Creighton.

Again, that is totally unrelated to the conversation at hand. Should someone be considered for the actual Mt.Rushmore because of something they accomplished prior to coming to America? This is a really stupid comparison, but I don't know how to more clearly lay out how ignorant you are being.

I'm just trying to figure out where we might carve this in the mountainous terrain of Cedar Falls.

Good Lord dude. I hope you're not that arrogant in real life. If so, slow your roll.

Maybe carve it into the dirt slopes on the north west corner of the dome?
