Bond and Schweigger have been A+ adds so far. Bond was known, Schweigger had some mixed reviews when we got him, but for sure better than what left outside Heise.

I am still pretty baffled how far Duax and Born have regressed in 2 years. They were so good on that 22-23 team even if it was a rebuilding injury riddled season, they still came to play and played efficiently.

I'll definitely take quality over quantity of transfers, though I am a bit concerned how often we can strike on quality. I think hoping to continue to get Hutsons and Schweiggers is doable. I don't know the likelihood of having someone like Bond fall in our lap from time to time. Maybe we can become a team that rehabilitates a player or 2 before they transfer back up.

This is the reason we've been in on so many HS Seniors who are a little out of our reach. We're hoping to get some of them a year or two later if they decide to transfer down.

And occasionally we get a commit like Jalen Wilson to come here from the jump.

I think Iowa State is going to win a few games just because of clutch plays by Heise. He always seems ready to make the right play.

Agreed. I saw parts of the 2nd half. He had a tip in then played D and helped Iowa miss a couple of shots. Coincidentally or not, that’s when Iowa State seemed to pull away for good.

Haven’t seen it mentioned. Tucker DeVries is out indefinitely with an upper body injury. Don’t know what that means but doesn’t sound good.

I'd love to have seen Heise not playing with Born.

All that volume that Born took really hurt him.

Nate was the one guy I really wanted to keep of the guys we lost this off-season. It's not a surprise that he's doing what he's doing in Ames, I'm really happy for him. At the end of the day, he was here for 4 years and wanted to move on. Just so happens there were injuries that limited his production/years here.

Last night was a very good illustration of the key contributions Heise makes. Just seemed to be in the right place at the right time making the right play when it mattered.

It was interesting watching Iowa's offense compared to ours last night. Felt like Iowa had a bunch of opportunities to back cut and just refused to do it, they were determined to shake free on the perimeter and get 3 point shots.

They started red hot from 3, hitting roughly 7 - 9. They only hit approximately 5 of their next 25 until game end. Numbers are approximate but indicative. Live by it, die by it. That’s why I’m a fan of having athletic guards who can drive so you have other options.

The first time I ever saw Iowa State play UNI was at Hilton with McDermott still at UNI. UNI back cut so well that it made Iowa State look silly. Made me a UNI fan even before UNIdaughter went there.

Nate is 6th on the team in minutes played, obviously the coach appreciates the little things Nate does. He hits 62% of his 2fgs, good for a guard. 2:1 A:TO ratio. Strong defense. All of which is no surprise to us; the surprise might be that it has translated so well to the Big 12.

Its not a surprise at all, he was the best player on our team and he is the type of player that fits in seamlessly literally anywhere. He should be in the starting lineup for them. I guarantee he will be in the end of game lineups for that team down the stretch run of the season.

The Iowa State guard depth is ridiculous right now. He is never going to start over Gilbert, Lipsey, or Jones. You could argue that he should start over Moncilovic, but I do understand why he wouldn't.

Bowen is averaging 17 min, 5 ppg on 33% FG.

                                Just why.
