We also have to find a way to come out READY to play. Something with our pre-game routine, our preparation, something... is NOT working and hasn't been for a while. We need energy every. single. night. I don't get it.

And they owned it -- all of it -- for the world to see. Like men. Like leaders. Like champions -- in a way no tournament bracket could ever define."

This. It’s called coaching and film prep. One or both are severely lacking. Jake and crew are great at making adjustments but you can’t keep digging double digit holes to start games. I feel like the real juice of the program left with KG and Crawford.

Erik Crawford was a disinterested mess in his last two years here.

Tuttle and G put life back into recruiting and got some energy back in the program.

The problem has usually been too much prep. Way too much thinking and not just playing.

Didn’t know that about Crawford. I agree that Tuttle and G have changed the game with recruiting. Much better pieces coming in. But that makes Jake’s case even worse. We’re paying a premium salary for underwhelming results. I’d love to see Tuttle running the show one day and I hope he gets that chance.

He's absolutely next. He's our Casey Alexander.

And this next part isn't directed at you. Its just a common theme.

Jake isn't the highest paid coach in the Valley anymore and the top has more or less bundled. Alexander is at $1.3M and Wardle, McCollum and Prohm are all in that $800-950k range all in with shoes and media. That $1M number just isn't the huge number it was when he signed that deal.

We need to get the practice facility done so that Jake, and Tuttle going forward, are on equal footing with the rest of the league.

This is my biggest issue so far. The games we have lost, we have looked so slow and lethargic. We are either overthinking, or we are lazy. It’s like we are just going through the motions. Sloppy lazy play against every team we have lost to. Then we have a burst of energy and you wonder where the heck it came from. It’s just bizarre.

Is there any reason to believe that the practice facility is going to happen? Has there been any progress on that? I haven't heard anything in a while.

With 3 projects in the fund-raising stage (Dome, Wrestling, and Court facility) the focus has been on the first one. There is a meaningful % of the projected cost pledged to the court facility already.

And Jake (and his supporters) have been personally responsible for raising most of the money to date.

                          Yup.

I'm amazed he can pass background checks to be sanctioned but maybe that doesn't apply to independent contractors.

Obviously he should never teach high school again, but he hasn't been convicted of any crime and it's hard to see how this would impact his abilty to officiate men's college basketball.
