  • Game 16 - January 8 - Murray State

Big game tonight. Have to get back on track after the loss on Saturday. Milton, Wood, Ferguson, and Harcum have all been solid for Murray. Murray is at 114 in KenPom while we sit at 99.

We have to be more active on defense and find a way to get some easier shots for anyone outside of Tytan who can just go get his own most of the time.

Saturday kinda popped my balloon a bit. I was really excited for Saturday's game. It was like the old days. I was anticipating it. I'm kinda back to my, "I hope we win but whatever" phase after that game.

Jake really questioned effort in his press conference Monday. I don't think that will be an issue tonight.

Cats roll and get back on track.

Yeah. That was interesting to read after the game. Jake seemed so confused as to how we kind of got handled that game. Then when he looked at the game stats everything looked good, so he thought it must've been effort. I imagine we will be flying around this game. I think he was pretty disappointed with starters on Saturday.

But this is Jake's MO every year in Indiana. We go there playing well and forget to pack the effort in the travel bags. KB said it on the radio broadcast that this isn't the effort a championship team brings with them.
If computers ruled college basketball the way they do football, we'd have skipped all this March Madness monotony and just waited a month for the Kansas-Kentucky title game. And watched Northern Iowa play Cornell in the Poulan Weedeater Bowl. ~ Dwight Perry The Seattle Times

Pretty troubling to hear our effort was garbage in a tough road game where we were coming off of the first 3-0 MVC start in 15 years.

That is why Coach Jake has run a .500 program for the last decade. The only consistency is inconsistency.

Will be really interesting to see how we look tonight.

And that 'garbage effort' would have been enough with a healthy Hutson.

I think a vocal team leader is needed...get loud during practices and starting rallies...getting in someone's face on missed assignments or lackadasical effort...they have quality guys (Tytan, Hutty) as both players and people, but not that personality.

For tonight I'm predicting 9+ boards for Ty and point leader being either Schweiger or Bond.

No Hutson tonight and Wes is already in!

Wes looks winded out there. How can Wes and his brother have such different body's. His brother is skinny and fast Wes is slow and over weight.

This team has no rizz, as the kids say. They are mid.

Not looking good so far. W/o Hutty available inside, we need to hit some outside shots. Not happening so far.

Jake gets his cool mil one way or another. Life tenure like Farley.
