This was picked up by the UNI social media feeds and congratulated him right?
If computers ruled college basketball the way they do football, we'd have skipped all this March Madness monotony and just waited a month for the Kansas-Kentucky title game. And watched Northern Iowa play Cornell in the Poulan Weedeater Bowl. ~ Dwight Perry The Seattle Times

Tweet was put in the queue. Right behind congratulating Brawntae on his William Campbell semi-finalist status

We should see it sometime in 2089

Agree with others, this does seem like a good get. Ankeny has a strong team again this year, currently ranked #1 in 5A. They’ve got some gamers on the defensive side of the ball too. There’s a safety there, Crandall, that has been a playmaker the last two years against high level competition. He’d look good in a Panther uniform as well.

A football recruit from my hometown! UNI has recruited at least three wrestlers from West Liberty in the past but this is the first football recruit from West Liberty. Good Luck, Jahsiah!

Does anyone know if we’re after Dowling’s QB, Justin Smolek? He’s 2023, so only a junior, and was hurt for part of this year. Just watched him vs Valley. Decent sized kid with a good arm, and accurate. I know he’s attracting a lot of college interest, just don’t know if UNI is in the mix.

Surely the offers from Air Force and Nebraska weren’t full scholarships? Right?

Unless they were preferred walk on offers...they were full scholarships.

FBS schools cannot offer partials. Football is a "head count" sport at the FBS level...85 scholly's...85 guys.

I would have to assume Air Force was a full ride...not a PWO.

                        Air Force doesn't do PWOs.

                        That offer was legit.

This guy has gotten some love from people who follow recruiting. He’s a playmaker, and sounds like a really good get for UNI assuming Iowa or someone else doesn’t come in late.

Per the other posts about preferred walk on “offers” vs full rides, why would anyone list
a walk on offer as an offer? I don’t care if it’s preferred or not, it’s not the same thing, and is misleading if that’s how recruiting sites are handling it.

Recruiting sites are nothing if not ironclad ethical...

LOL, and ironclad accurate. Someone studied the Super Bowl teams rosters a few years ago. I think it was the Patriots and someone else. The vast majority of the players were 2 and 3 star guys in high school. A few 4s and 5s, sure, but a few 1s as well. Unlike basketball, football recruiting is a very inexact science.

Panthers got a commitment from Lamarr Box...a DB from East St Louis.
